It depends on the INS itself. Usually, if you can prove them that you are eligible for the EAD then they will send it to you right away. In most cases I have seen that the people who dosent get it on time needs to send more documents. After 9-11, they have become more serious about all this stuff. They asked me for more documents too(that was after two weeks I applied). When I sent the documents, it took two more weeks. Interesting thing- when I call the toll No. to find the status of my application it says, its still in process and will take atmost 120 days.
