Hi all, Wish you all a very Happy New Year -- 2059 BS. Sabai ko falos, fulos, ramro hos!! On another note, it's been two years since I regularly started posting stuff on GBNC.org and then on sajha.com -- and, occasonal expected attacks from anonymous friends (you well know who you are, and I wish you well!) notwithstanding, I have had a greatly educational, enjoyable time here. For this, I am grateful to all of you -- and thank you for reading my various postings, for commenting positively and negatively on them, and for basically doing your part to keep dialogues/debates and discussions on a variety of Nepal-related matters going. A very special thanks to San the Web Master without whose dedication and commitment, this site's success would not have been possible. Now, all good things must come to some sort of an end. And so does, for all practical purposes, my two-year ko so-called 'underground career' in this samizdat. You know, posting stuff here for primarly readers-based-out-of-Nepal has been a lot of fun. But I have decided that ultimately I want to write with an aim to possibly influence or engage with readers and policy-makers based right here in Nepal. And for that, I have realized that, if I am serious about writing opinions, then I need to FIRST write for Nepal-based papers, and THEN post the same stuff on this and other Web sites to get your feedbacks. And so, starting next week, in addition to my full-time job (M-F) of assisting Nepali entrepreneurs with business strategies that lead to profits, I shall be writing (original) opinion pieces for a newspaper/magazine in Nepal -- most likely, in both English and Nepali languages, on issues related to Nepali economy, business issues, public policies and so on -- in my own name. Truth be told, there is much I do NOT know about those issues. But since I learn by writing anyway, I figured that writing about those issues PUBLICLY would help me learn more about them. That way, even if I make mistakes, those mistakes would be out in the OPEN -- and can be easily corrected by readers who know more than I do. Anyway, that's the idea. Let's see how it goes. If the whole thing does not work for any reason, well, I can always say that I tried and I failed, and can always find some other outlets to do the kind of writings I want to do.. So, thank you all -- once again for your support, friendships and affection over the past 24 months on this site. Have a great 2059 BS. And please none of that "will this site survive without Ashu?" type of postings. That's because like Ashutosh Tiwari come and go, and are not all that important in the grand scheme of things. What is more important is that the site goes on with newer, more fresh and more intelligent voices. With thanks to all of you, oohi "among the number one fans of sajha.com" ashu ktm, nepal
