I don't want if any of you have seen this program, but PBS is showing this wonderful 'economics' program called 'Commanding Heights'. It's a three episode program, the second part of which was shown yesterday (and which the Washington Post said is 'one of the finest documentary in decades'). Of the many people it interviewed was Jeff Sachs (others ranged from Milton Friedman to India's Manmoham Singh) who talked about his works in Bolivia, Argentina, Poland and Russia. He talked not only about his success (primarily in Bolivia) but also failures (like Russia, qualified though it is). An intersting program for those of us who are novices in economics. Incidentally, Jeff Sachs appeared as a very curious and humble fellow, which was rather a surprise, coming from the discussion about him in another thread.
