Pretty interesting news on the possibility of hydrocarbon blocks in Nepal. Well, we really don't know how far this goes, but the story itself tells so much about the significance of geopolitics and larger political economy. Texacan oil tycoons and their companies like Bachtel are ushering with regional allies, while we hear nothing much about these issues in Nepal. Conspiracy theory…..hmmm, that’s a possibility. I have just done a search for the company called "Texana Resources", the company given the rights to explore for oil in Nepal in 1998(relatd with the article) but have found that the company is only mentioned in conjunction to its exploration job in Nepal, nothing else......seems like this was a company created ONLY for the purpose of the Nepalese contract, though I could be wrong.... Does anyone have any info on this company........Do I smell something??? sniff ...sniff....sniff
