KATHMANDU, April 17 – The Interior Ministry on Wednesday has appealed all public transportation owners, educational institutes, industries and businesses to remain open during the Maoist called five-day nationwide shutdown, further issuing shoot-at-site orders to security forces against those involved in spreading terror by causing damages to public property.

In a press statement issued today, the Interior Ministry has also stated that the Ministry will be providing "adequate compensation" in case of damages during the Maoist called shutdown. The Maoist called five-day shutdown is slated to start from April 23.

The Interior Ministry has also stated that all measures have already been adopted to defy the Maoist shutdown and that the security situation is also being constantly evaluated. (sjs)
