there is this one dhoti in our complex who is going around saying that Nepathay's music is a copy of Bollywood music. and he is bent on spreading all this false rumor. if he was talking about nepali movie songs, i can understand. but he is talking about Nepathya. when people talk crap about nepathya and 1974 ad we nepali out here in tucson take it as a personal insult. so i wanted to take a survey and see if the majority of nepali want to see this dhoti along with his friends get beat up by us the University of Arizona nepali students. please drop few lines here. ur response will be of extreme help on deciding this dhoti's fate. pissed nepalis

YO pissed nepali.... don't you have any other thing to get pissed on rather than some jackass (yesss!!!) nepali said some jackass nepali band(yessss!!!) copied some jackass hindi song???? By the way that Nepali-guy-who-looks-like-a-dhoti or a-dhoti-guy-who-pretends-to-be-nepali is right in a sense. Given: nepathya steal the tune from hindi songs Proof: Listen "Jiska mujhe tha intazaar" from 1970's hindi movie "DON" starring Amitabh bachchan and listen "chekyo chekyo deurali dada" by nepathya ... you might find the similarity in tune. it could be imitation or pure coincidence. BUT Amrit Gurung told this "INSIDER" friend of mine that Suk gurung came up with a tune, and nepathya knew its the copy of the hindi song, and they also knew it sounds like a "HIT SONG", they opted for it. Rest is history. There are other songs too which is straight lift from hindi and english songs... ask Amrit Gurung .. he knows better... hehehe

Since when has "beating up" someone become a standard solution? This is simply a wrong approach. Thumbs down!

Hey, don't beat him up, coz he might complain to the cops, and the officials might send your ass back to Nepal. Just threaten him. You're safe, as long as he doesn't tape your conversation. If he tapes the convo, then back to Nepa ko gaun for you.

My dear pissed nepali brothers don't listen to these "Gandhi ko chak" lickers. Let's just do it. All the people who are against you guys must be bihari or at least their moms had an affair with bihari dakus. Or worst yet, they maybe the children of our politicians. ya know how our politicians like to wash black asses of dhotis. I think that they have passed it on to their children. And freek (better yet Moran), Chekyo chekyo is not even sang by Amrit Gurung.

I cannot believe the level to which this thread has degenerated. You all bring shame to Nepalis with your low scum like vitriolic talk. You guys should be lined up and beaten with a hammer, for your idiot like behavior.

look this freek is freeking out again. who is talking abot Nepathya's fate. what I am saying is when chekyo chekyo was released, Amrit gurung was not even in the band. he joined the band when nabin quit the band. so your "insider" must be smoking pot with baba ji in pashupati or mabe it was you who was drunk when your "insider" was talking to you.

Yo badmas, are you on crack??? Amrit gurung, deepak(who is pilot right now), bhim pun(who was a drummer, and right now living in HK) were the founders of nepathya. Please straighten your fact before you assume anyone is high on pot. You don't know jack shit yo.

nepathya's music is good. but it is not original music. it is borrowed from different sources. to compose original music, one has to go to a music school, spend a few years learning composition, etc. that's hard. same with sur sudha's music. it is not original. nor it is "himalayan" music. any trained indian classical musician would smile at sur sudha's music. but sur sudha members have been good marketers. there are one billion indians. not all of them wear dhotis. some of them wear looga from Ralph Lauren.

Yo. unoriginal.. You are absolutely right. Even I laughed at sursudha, although, I am not as good in identifying "raag"s and scales. They don't know the feel of the music. Improvising "lai bari lai" doesn't mean that they are perfect classical musicians, and that also mean that they can CREATE the piece. They just improvise. whether its "paan ko paat" or "siri ma siri ni kanchi". One can play "Sweet child o' mine" doesn't mean that he is as good as Slash. Badmas..... what do you think i am stinky ratass as you who would hide behind the computer by your threatning?? If you could defend yourself, you had written down a message that would justify your statement on nepathya. If you want, give me the address, ill be there. Or else, I am in NY city, If you wanna come, i'll be waiting for you. Been a while since i punched somebody, but , my knuckels are not rusty yet you stinky bitch ass nepali.

Nepali music has been always inspired by Hindi songs from back 1950s to till today. Some of examples are > Maiti Ghar Na maan lag tesiriii ke badcha dhuki dhuki mero is straight lift from song Abi na jao chode ke ki dil abi bhara nahi..... Then again the popular song Maya ko bari ma preeti ko phool is straight lift from popular song Sawan ka mahina ...(Shor) It makes me laugh that some of nepali songs even use bhangara tune. Well this is all about music. I love to listen inspired music. Its nothing wrong to do that either. We should not make this simple thing a big issue. We shouldnot forget the bitter fact that we dont have any good singer in Nepal besides Narayan gopal, aruna lama(west bengal) and udit narayan( identity crisis )

The indian sounds like he deserves a beating but, don't forget u are in the states and if he complains to the cops u and ur friends could end up facing a "gbh" (grevious bodily harm) charge....it aint back home where such acts can be initiated in complete immunity from prosecution....once u have a police record of any kind then forget about getting any kind of decent job...u will be confined to low paying jobs for a long time Plus, hera saathi, if today u still have to resort to physical means to prove a point then u will have problems adjusting to US society....Show the world what nepalis are made of by finidn other means to make the indian "see" the light.
