The attached article is unique and very encouraging to see that morality is holding grounds???? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ex-minister admits to illegal wealth KOL Report POKHARA, April 23 - It was a unique way of admitting guilt. Hari Prasad Pandey, former minister of state for water resources in Manmohan Adhikari-led nine-month old CPN (UML) government, called a press conference on Monday to confess: “I am guilty of acquiring money through illegal means as a minister.” “I am guilty and I demand action be taken against me,” he said, adding, “My crime was as serious as the ones being committed by the Maoists.” He demanded that he should be tried in a court and punished for having cheated the state. “The entire country and society have been vitiated with my criminal activities. I am ready to face the consequences. I feel mere apology is not enough to absolve me.” Pandey also submitted a letter to the District Administration office, Kaski on Monday, listing details of his “misdeeds”. (yo)
