You need some guts to do this and his behaviour is so unNepali than "haamikastojhoor" types. Just somethings that make you go hmmm....

Hari Pandey was discussed in this forum as successful biz. man who came to this level all from his hard work. Being a overseer in education, it was surprising how he earned such a huge amount as hard workig person, ............ I had chance to fly and have seated with him in the same row just next to him. Wow, how he was praised ... Mantri ji Mantri ji .... In fact, I was in Nepal last time to attend on international conference and chairman of the organizing committee was Hari Prasad Pandey. The next morning when I saw him at the conference hall, I realized who was that minister "Mantri ji", he went to dias and gave a speech as Chairman of the organizing committee of an international conference where 100s of researchers were listening to him. What will happen if they come to know that the ex.minister confessod that he accumulated huge amount of money via illegal means. ... What will happen to all those who are directly or indirectly involved in the this saga. Will paharo tanda laharo garkhane ... Makune ji will come to rescue him "Kya, pandey yasto belama bhannai naparne kura bhanera barbad bho. Asti Bhim ji lai balla bachaye ko ta tapai ta chokhai hunuhunthyo ni .. ..." Anyway, if he gets punishment that fits his crime, I will be happy to find Harry Pandey sitting beside me in the same flight. Unfortunately, I lost the photograph, otherwise, I would listed here who is Hari Pandey by Picture.

1. Every successful/unsuccessful businessman in Nepal hardly pays taxes, and this guy is no different. 2. Every damned minister in the cabinet takes "GHUSH", and this guy was no different. 3. So this guy came out with GUTS, I applaud him. If you look at his history, he could easily hide the earnings through his business ventures. I despise those who think less of this GUY and think big of HONORABLE KHUME, HONORABLE GRJ, HONORABLE BAMDEV, HONORABLE MAKUNE and so forth.

Oi murkha hmmm... HamiKinaYestoJhoor is my name on this forum, spelt a particular way, with four distinct words, seven syllablled, with each word beginning with a capital letter. In business parlance, that's called a "trademark". I laud Pandey's decision, found it amusing, and wanted others to appreciate his rare gesture, hence the posting. Where do I call this act Jhoor? Where? Lesson for you: don't judge my remarks by my name, or since you seem to be so into cliches: don't judge a book by its cover. Got it?

HahooGuru ji, Do not compare this guy with khume or Bhime! The news from Today's Kantipur should bring down the early sensetization created by his admitting. As Kantipur reports, it is not the first time that he has admitted the guilt, he did it before too. He even submitted formal petition to Akhtiyar. Akhtiyar did not hear the case (why?). So, what is his real intention? Is he again playing a political trick or is it a genuine confession? Anyway, I applaud him for his guts. I am curious to know the reaction of other politicians, industrialists and businessmen. SR --------------------------------------

AS I said before, what he did was great. Thats the start. but, will peoples in Akhtiyar or the political gurus like to go with his claim. They will even say he is lying, because they don't want their name appear after him. Its sure. Anyway, lets see the developments and he will be praised in the history of Nepal, if he can bring more corrupts to the court and get them punishments. Bye. I am also excited to hear the news. When I talked to a guy in Pokhara, they were also surprised and are looking for developments.

A copy of letter sent to NepaliTimes Editor-in-Chief. I am not sure whether they will publish, usually, they do a lot of kat-chhat so that they can make their readers feel that I am appreciating them, as it happened last week. ------------------------------ Let me wish this time, it will not happen to that level. To. Editor-in-Chief NepaliTimes Dear Editor-in-Chief, For one whole week until yesterday, I was looking for some one to raise the issues with Mr. Hari Pandey whether he is honest or he is making another drama in this "Corruption vs Honesty" stuffs. The article published in NepaliTimes (May 07, 2002) is really timely and informative. Your paper is portraying Hari Pandey positively, and it looks he is among your close cotiere. You have missed many things in your reporting, some of them are: 1. You could not convince us (readers) what is the objective your article on Hari Pandey, other than plain flattering. There is nothing in the whole article. 2. Hari Pandey was already given a "PURJI" by Akthiyar Dur. Nivaran Ayog. to explain himself and his misdeeds. It seems your article is Old enough to account the new developments. 3. Hari Prasad's self accusations are qualitative, but, we need quantitative. I mean where when and how much he paid. Well, such bulky vague reports can be prepared by any one and we have seen Mallik Ayog to new ... Ayog recently created to cope corruption in the country. As you said, it still looks a mere propaganda or his political adivsors have asked him to follow this path earn more names. 4. Will he disclose all the names associated with the so called corruptions? He should help the A.D.Nibaran Ayog, and bring everyone involved in the corurptions associating himself. Will he have guts to do that? If he does not have such evidence and if he does not have guts to make publich such evidence, his all motives are fake and illusions. Looking at the history of Nepal, if he does not bring those records to public (evidence), then, he is another CHEAT who make fun on peoples miserable expecations of getting rid of corruptions. I am still pessimistic looking at the history of Nepal. Will Mr. Pandey be able to challenge to make Nepali Peoples think positively, and optimistically that such peoples do exist in Nepal? 5. Is NepaliTimes editorial board assured that Hari Pandey is really going to help A.D.N. Ayog to bring all those corrupts into record? If not why NepaliTimes posed Hari Pandey as great Hero without any hint on whether Hari Pandey is really willing to bring those corrupts into record, instead of having that 42page report a mere qualitative claim on indulgements in corruption and we all know that there are many corrupts, but, we or govt. or court needs evidence to punish someone and put him/her in jail. I am not sure whether he wrote a report in such a way that it finally proves he has no evidence to bring any culprits into record. Until then, the claim is just antoher propaganda run by Mr. Hari Pandey to call himself a great hero. As a dedicated news paper like yours, you should have brought or asked those issues, but, your news paper is completely blind in this respect. It sad and I feel ashamed on reading the article. I wish you publish this in letter to the editor section, you might shorten its length without losing its core issues. I hope you will not edit it to suit your need in flattering Mr. Pandey. Sincerely yours,
