A man arrested at an O'Hare International Airport security checkpoint five months ago carrying knives and a stun gun was found incompetent Monday to stand trial in federal court, Reports associated press.

Subash Gurung, 27, will remain in a federal prison hospital for treatment in hopes of restoring his competency under a ruling handed down by U.S. District Judge William J. Hibbler.

The native of Nepal probably would have been sentenced to time served and deported if he had pleaded guilty, attorneys said. Instead, he is being held in a federal prison hospital at Rochester, Minn.

Gurung was arrested Nov. 3 trying to board a flight to Omaha, Neb., with several knives and a stun gun. Authorities found that he was in the United States on an expired student visa.
