I know this is not news to those of you Techie's who are writing M-Commerce application but could be news to others...
Last week, one of research groups (Yankee Group) estimated that by 2006, some 50 million wireless phone customers in the U.S. will use their devices to pay for $15 billion in content, goods and services.

Mobile Phones Pay for Gas at the Pump
Motorists will be able to pay for gas, parking and fast food using their
mobile phones and a new system being launched by Alliance Data Systems,
fuel company Alon USA and mobile commerce firm Cellenium.
