You wake up to the irritating buzz of the alarm clock. After a few tosses and turns and a few snoozes you finally get out of bed. First thing you do is check your email. Some smiles some frowns and some yawns later you do your morning rituals and you head over to work, where the magic screen greets you again; welcoming you to become it's slave for the next 8 hours or so that you're going to spend in the office. The next 8 hours of your work you try to acclimatize yourself within the consoles of the magic screen. There you have time for your emails again. There you have time for some sneak peaks at forbidden fruits; there you have time for some surfin for news; there you have some time for chatting; if you're lucky you might even have some cybersex! Use the magic screen to download some cool songs and work to the beat of rhythm nation or anything else you might fancy. You come back home, eat, what is there to do? Maybe sit in front of TV, watch a movie or indulge inside the realm of the magic screen which gives you everything you want. Or does it? Weekends. Frenzy. Cellphones, beepers. Techno music. Beeps. Hightech cars. Screeches. Hifi sounds that go boom boom. Sleek laptops. Wireless. High speed internet. Topless/bottomless interests on screen in seconds instead of minutes. The theme is accessibility. Fast access. Anytime access. You can access me anytime on my cell. I can access any information I want. Stop. Why do we live like our life is dependent on technology? Is technology taking us away from our spirituality? The time we spend with people or nature is being eaten up by technology. Technology is supposed to provide us with luxury, but it's providing us with an escape. An escape from reality. An escape from our spirituality. I imagine spending time with friends have their laughter recharge my spirituality instead of a 'lol' on screen. I imagine walking barefoot on grass. Lying in grass, letting the sunlight form halos of red inside my closed eyes, instead of the magic screen engorging my eyes with emptiness.

I totally agree. Couple of days ago, I looked up to the sky and thought "what the heck am I doing here? Why am I taking life so seriously, when I don't even know the meaning of life. I go to school, I work all day long, I play, I party hard....why? Because that's what human culture taught me, starting day one. I was taught to eat the "right way", taught to speak the "right way", taught to see the "right way"..... how different would things be if our ansestors had made a right turn instead of left..."
