Thesedays everytime you turn on the TV, you hear episodes about priests molesting boys as long as 30 years ago. If, in a country like the US, it takes 30 years for something like that to come up, how long would something like that take to come out in a country like Nepal? 300 years? or in other words probably not in one's lifetime.

Sexual malestation in US happens because marriage and sex is barred for priests. It is not the case in Nepal. Priests have family in Nepal.

Actually, pedophelia is prevalent in Nepal. Since Nepal is a Third World country, not too many people, besides the activists, care about child molestation, because they got "better things" to think about, like somehow procuring daily necessities, for instance. Even if a family does know that a young member is being molested, they won't mind going to extreme measures in order to hide the "shame". In the US, such misdeeds seldom go unnoticed. This type of awareness in the US was precipitated by better standards of living. Please watch Monsoon Wedding. The movie delineates quandaries faced by an upwardly mobile South Asian family that is somewhat inclined towards traditionalism. It has some scenes that shed light on clemency granted by South Asian family members of the molestee to the molester. Child Molesters can run freely in the Indian subcontinent. Who knows, even your next door neighbor could an antisocial child molester.

I agree but the discussion is about the Priests. Corrupted priests use prostution but child molestation is not common, I think.

Even if priest were allowed to married, child molesting would not stop. Many married men (and the reason why I say men is because the problem is predomently in men and not women) engage in this disgusting activity. My suggestion is to allow women into the priesthood and give more equality to the nuns. I also think that Cardinal Law is a criminal and should be treated as such
