ANA Convention Committee is planning to screen it at the ANA Convention in DC on July. If there is high demand from the community, NSA could screen it again at GMU. Here is a brief description of the planned ANA convention forum, "Focus on Nepal": Focus on Nepal [2.5 hours, Friday afternoon, July 5, 2002]: This two-part forum aims to inform participants of the ongoing Maoist insurgency in Nepal through audio/visual media and provide a platform for discussants with deep understandings of Nepal’s Maoist predicament and with international experience in diffusing and mediating political conflict in developing countries. The first part of the forum will consist of a 45- minute screening of Raktamya Pahad (The Killing Terraces), an award-winning documentary on the maoist war in Nepal (Film maker Dhurba Basnet). The documentary will be followed up by by a town-hall style meeting, The Fire at Home, designed to stimulate participants to think seriously about the fire that rages in Nepal and to contribute to the process of uncovering the path to peace. No papers are solicited for this forum. For more information, please contact Rajendra Oli at rajendra.oli@verizon.net. -PS

I am also very interested in seeing this documentary and I have about 10 other friends that are interested. I hope you will consider and show it again at GMU. Thanks.

I would love to see this flik! [funny observation aside: I wonder if others noted it too? It seems Beer, McDonald and TV dinner are definitely getting into the physiques of most Nepalis in US (correction of those in Farifax). Majority of Daju-bhai, didi-bahini who are in the photograph are (no offense) but looked a bit out of shape with clearly visible protuding and obtrude bellies. To console: I hope the photographer was using a wide angle lens! How about putting that nike joggers on for a change...huh?]

The pictures mentioned on this thread are from Raktamya Pahad movie screening and talk program event organized at GMU on April 19th not from the movie itself. Here is the URL again: http://mason.gmu.edu/~nsa/moviepic.html GMU-NSA site is little slow right now. We plan to move it to new server soon. It sounds like some DC Nepalese community members did not get to watch this movie on April 19th since it was Friday. We can organize it on weeked (Sat or Sun) this time. -PS

In the site it says "Pictures from "The Killing Terraces" (Raktamya Pahad) movie screening" Doesn't Raktamya Pahad mean 'Bloody Hill" ?? The killing terraces sounds like a name of a movie - like the killing fields...
