Dear San,

In every Nepali site, I visit, e.g KOL, Nepalnews.com, nepalitimes.com
........ and sajha.com we can find POlls? Are all these polls really
worth of accepting? For this we can see KOL.com's note. To make
one lasting Polling site, Sajha.com has potential to take leadership
and can be lasting. For this we need to have a strong data base
on Sajha.surfers. In this plan, what you can do is

1. First establish a registration of Sajha.com surfers who want to
participate in polls.

2. To avoid multiple registration, you ask them to provide to
referees / or get 2 recommendation from existing members.
(Well, you can make this requirement free for those who
use .edu or .gov or well, known company address, but, not
the yahoo.com or hotmail.com where you can get any
amount of email as you like).

3. Classify those registered members:
a. politically (as we nepalis are too political).
Which party they support. There should be
three additional options for peoples in gray zone.
i. don't know ii. supporter of party not in list
iii. don't want to reveal.
(even in NC you can divide NC(Girija), NC(Deuba))
b. professional
c. place of current residence and place of stay until SLC
d. education level
e. SEX
f. marital status
g. number of kids

4. Contact some univ. teachers in Nepal to use Sajha.com for
their poll studies. Arrange some relation with KOL / Kantipur
Publication / Bimarsha / Deshantar / Dristi
to publish the data. Why so many news papers?
When the poll is strictly in the interest of NC(Girija), they can contact
Bimarsha or Deshantar (girija ko lagautiya patrika haru) and get it published,
and the poll is conducted only within NC(Girija), when it comes
UML issues (their lagautiya Patrika Dristi), they can be polled only within UML supporters ... .....
when it comes very general Kantipur or Kathmandu Post may publish
the final poll. It will be more scientific, it will represent the results within
peoples registered at Sajha.com. Now, many peoples in Nepal have
computers in major towns. Now, a days, I have to shut down my
hotmail messengers because my 24hrs will not be enough in chatting
with peoples that I know are hooked to internet. .......... The number
is growing. I remember when I advertised Sajha.com in a forum,
the number of surfer in Sajha.com suddenly increased ( whether you
believe it or not). So, I can at least bring a new wave if your poll
like the one I proposed above appears for the sake of betterment.

You don't need to make it a mandatory, but, those who want to join
in specialized polling, are encouraged to join the verified (really verified)
poll collection system. I heard peoples doing TEL polls have such
method, they ask their TV (usually) viewers to register telephones
and make some random selection and ask yes or no and they claim
its representative poll. For example, you can ask NC(Girija)
email registered members, "Whether they agree with the disp.
action against Minister Gupta?", even Deshantar or Bimarsha are
not +ve to this move. But, Bimarsh or Deshantar peopels (one of
co-eidtor-in-chief was my a very very good friend in my college days)
they never conduct any polls, and have no resources or methods,
so they lack justification in their write ups... and Sajha.com can
give them a taste. When you can truely convince that this poll
was conducted between NC(Girija Group supporters), it will be
als lesson to them too. Now they are behaving like Emperors
cloth stories, surrounded by all YES Peoples, but, Sajha.com
can let them access to NO PEOPLES too.

I wish you got my points and if you need I can be of any help
to recommend in this data base preparation, I can at least
ask some peoples to join for honest reasons.

Dear Hahooguru,

I appreciate the time you've taken to make this proposal.

At this time, however, we will not be implementing such a polling system as you have suggested. In my opinion, users will not go thru the 'recommend by 2 users' kind of registration system since it's just easier to post and vote anonymously.

In addition, it would be impossible to go back on the current list of registered users and re-verify these with the 'two recommendations' - which again would result in an 'impure' list from the perspective of your proposal.

Best Regards,
San
