Nepal oppn opposes US assistance
ATHMANDU: Nepal's main parliamentary opposition party on Tuesday said the country should not accept any foreign aid in its fight against Maoist rebels, after the United States proposed $20 million in military assistance.

"Any acceptance of foreign military assistance would make Nepal a playground of foreign powers," the Nepal Communist Party-United Marxist and Leninist (NCP-UML) said in a statement.

US President George W. Bush's administration last week asked Congress to approve 20 million dollars in military assistance for the Nepalese government, which is fighting a Maoist insurgency of growing intensity.

The NCP-UML has earlier denounced Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for supporting the US-led "war on terrorism" and authorising US war planes to fly over the kingdom if necessary.

The opposition party opposes the Maoists but has called on Deuba to resume dialogue with the rebels.

It also blasted the government for putting 64,000-dollars bounty on the heads of the top three rebel leaders.

The NCP-UML said the reward flew in the face of the 1990 constitution that outlawed the death penalty.

I believe, this issue would be joke as usual in Parliament. Opposition party has always right to protest against what Govt. do, however, those Govt's Jack ASS and "Desh Bechne Chor" won't realize what they are doing. They just need MONEY to swim on it (Aid), whatever, wherever, what kind, or where it came from, they don't matter. They just need oney. Everybody can speculate, since asking aid and accepting those aid, US will have a significant place to find play ground in Nepal for their political purpose.

Just keep in WATCH !! Nepal's political condition will be MORE WORSE than ever soon!!!
