The news headlines that "MoHA’s green signal to buy helicopters irks MoF" must have sounded like a "krantikari music" to maoist ear. if the present trends- declining economic activities (such as tourism and investment) and lower revenue collection, and rising security expenditure (not necessarily associated with improved security situation)- continue, it would almost impossible for government finance system to withhold the fiscal pressure. The central Bank governor and MoF officials have given a clear indication of ensuing crisis. But politicians and security stategists seem not to be fully aware of the implication of economic crisis on their security operation. May be the "almighty" night vision helicopters might be effective in countering maoist's "socket" bombs but what about "the economic bomb" these helicopters bring as side-effects? Has anybody thought how people would react when they need to carry bundles of NRs in a bag just to buy ek mutha rayo ko saag!

SR:

I was thinking about this question since long.It is difficult to imagine, when talking
about post Maoist (if and when that comes) era, what the situation of national
coffer is going to be after all this mess is over. The gloomy future definitely
overshadows any possible euphoria likely to be brought forth by the much sought
heads of rebel leaders.
