20 trucks weaponry for Nepal: Report KOL Report KATHMANDU, May 1 - More than month after Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s visit to India, the southern neighbour in a covert operation has given Nepal 20 armoured trucks carrying weaponry on April 23, the first day of the five-day Maoist bandh, an Indian newspaper reported on Tuesday. Besides giving the sophisticated weaponry, Indian Army has also been training commandos from its Nepali counterpart in jungle and guerrilla warfare, said The Telegraph, widely circulated daily from Kolkata. Quoting an intelligence official, the daily reported that the operation was set in motion well past mid-night to evade detection. The brand-new trucks did not have any Indian or Nepalese army markings to put any “unfriendly” spotters off the track. “The covert operation was part of India’s efforts to arm the Royal Nepal Army to help it fight the Maoist rebels. This is the second such consignment shipped through this region. Last week’s shipment was the largest so far,” he said. Though ruling out “government-to-government” transfer of military hardware and equipment, an Indian defence ministry spokesperson told a wire agency in New Delhi that commandos from Nepal were indeed being trained in guerrilla warfare in Mizoram, a north-eastern Indian state that itself has witnessed prolonged insurgency and guerrilla warfare. In Kathmandu, the Indian Embassy neither confirmed nor denied the shipment and training. Manoj Bharati, the First Secretary and press officer at the embassy told Kantipur Online that they had no independent report. “However, we can reiterate that our Prime Minister has assured to extend all possible support that the Royal Nepal Army (RNA) requires,” said Bharati. When asked whether the “support” included military hardware and equipment, Bharati replied, “Yes, why not, any help that the RNA needs.” (yo) >Well, it is not food, but guns and bullets. >Once you kill a person, you will be saving " >Tin Chhak Khana" and other three people can >get each on Chhak Khana at least.
