HIMALAYAN FAIR, 2002
19th annual outdoor celebration of the great Himalayan mountain cultures, with authentic art, crafts & antiques, live music & dance performances, exotic foods & travel information.

Memorial Day Weekend
Saturday, May 25, 10am - 7pm
Sunday, May 26, 10am - 5:30pm

Live Oak Park
1300 Shattuck Avenue at Berryman
North Berkeley, CA

$5 donation at the park benefits needy grassroots projects in India, Afghanistan, Nepal, Tibet, and Pakistan. In 2001 the Fair generated $26,000 for these projects. Supporters include The City of Berkeley and KPFA Free Speech Radio.

A unique experience in harmonious diversity. Among tents and booths scattered over lawns under the towering oaks and redwood trees of Live Oak Park, the sounds of bells and singing and Tibetan longhorns and laughter. Himalayan foods bake over charcoal. Hot chai is available beside the boulder-strewn creek. Excellent International dance and music groups perform all day each day. This is perhaps the only place on earth where Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims, Christians and secular folks can currently mingle in peace and pleasure.
