Announcement- May 26, 2002 Event
NOA is glad to announce it's first General Meeting/Convention on the 26th May 2002 Sunday, the Memorial day weekend.
All members of the Nepalese community are cordially invited to participate in this Day long event. For out of town participant, it's perfect time to visit the Capital Washington D.C meet friends and mingle with the community crowd!

puru, thank you for spreading the word about this. do you have any thoughts as to why it was scheduled over a major holiday travel weekend? i'm equally not sure why the upcoming ana convention was scheduled to start on the fourth of july. your thoughts?

You might find correct answer to your query if you contact the organizers directly.
I think, ANA's convention is usually 3/4 days long so they need long weekend/holiday for this. As far as I know, it's their tradition to do it on the July 4th weekend. This year, although registration starts on July 4th, the convention is formally inaugurated on the morning of July 5th.
