Cardinal:

whoever you are, a big THANK YOU!!!!!!!! for bringing this into public view. Although we should be thankful to Mr. Thronson for doing this indepth report, there are a few inaccuracies in it or maybe was provided false facts.
For example, the question about Nepalese being in Sikkim for the last 17 years - my oldest cousin who lives there is 50 years old. His father was from Sikkim and he was Nepalese! Wonder where they sprung up from?
Also the lines about Nepalese coming to Darjeeling and creating upheaval in the late 1980s - Wonder if the author was ever told about the Gorkha League that was found way back in my grandfather's days :) early 1940s. And about Sughauli Sandhi???
Which brings me to the conclusion: Although these scholars gather facts and evidence and show interest in our lands and its' history, there are so many underlying, unwritten facts that can be physically proven but has not been recorded over the many years and while researching, obviously cannot be found. All that is swept under carpets and it enrages me. How long should we feel like immigrants?? Isn't being a third generation "immigrant" enough for these imbeciles??

i agree with what suna had to say there.
and i would like to reiterate another fact here,
that if we do not pull up our socks now and act on the issue of maobadi problem back home, we will soon find ourselves as the unwanted second class citizens not just in bhutan or india, but all over the world.
