Is Nepal and Nepali condemned to ass kissing? This might be a generalization and I apologize for that. I agree that not ALL nepali are proficient in the fine art of chaplushi, but reading the news thesedays, one can't help but notice how condemned our landlocked country is.
Our Government officials have to have a majorly tough hide (and lips) that can withstand hours/days of ass kissing. George bush has been administered some ass kissing and so did Tony Blair. Even the ass of our friendly neighbourhood India has been kissed. I'm sure the paan smeared lips of some of our politicians must have left quite a mark there.
To strenghten our vows of ass kissing, the govt is now having to kiss ass of inanimate objects such as an aeroplane - ie. the Singapore Airlines. Well they're kissing govt of singapore to apply 'source force' to singapore airline to keep on operating. It seems like the Nepal Govt doesn't understand the economics of a market. If a market is not profitable, why would SIA operate anyways?? The govt messes up the country with years of corruption and now when the fruits are growing in the form of a civil war, the govt has their lips all puckered up for that major ass kissing.
Maybe it's due to Nepal being a landlocked country that it has to rely so much on ass kissing it's way thru it's daily routines.
May they learn to use their tongues too while kissing ass. Amen
