Hi all, I do NOT know who this Ranjit Rana character is. Nor do I know what his one-sided jhagada with me is about. What I do know about this guy are these strands of info: a) He is based in Australia. b) On the Internet (and on various Nepal-related and non-Nepal Web sites), for the last three years or so, two Nepalis he has most viciously attacked with false charges, time and again, have been: Shambhu Man Sainju (more) and me (somewhat less). Shambhu, as most of you know, is a highly-respected Nepali community member in the DC/VA area. Shambhu also runs an online C tutorial here on sajha. c) Shambhu, being an IT expert, actually traced this Rana guy's IP address and followed through the cyber-trail, before finding out that the guy was and is stark, raving mad and bereft of any credibility whatsoever. d) Apparently, this guy hates St. Xavier's School (and that's fair enough!) and the Godavari Alumni Association (that's fair enough too!). e) The guy posts his standard complaint (i.e. that he was abused by the Jesuits at St. Xavier's), and, if you remember, he had flooded this site with those kind of comments sometime ago. San Pradhan, on his own, finally had to throw out the guy because it was soon apparent Rana was just making stuff up, and posting the same thing under various names, using the most khattam language that you can imagine. After some time, it was hard to take him seriously. So, that's the katha of Mr. Ranjit Rana. ***************** I post the above, with a sense of pity and compassion for Mr. Rana. I hope he seeks professional help and goes on to live happier and more productive life that he obviously deserves. And so, I wish him well. PS: GP-ji, if you are reading this, Mr. Rana's attacks against Shambhu and me constitute a perfect example of the fact that: In one's PUBLIC life, yes, even without 'hawa', paat does hallan.cha!! This paat halla.nay thing without hawa is the risk one learns to assume by being out there in public. ke garne? Rana's is one example. There have been others you know that I have had to contend with over the years here on this site and on soc.culture.nepal. And that's life. More specifically, though, these and other (anonymous) attacks true? No. Do they bother me? No. Is this a small price I have to pay for being visible? Yes, and yes. That's all. Have a great Saturday, everyone. oohi ashu ktm, nepal
