Does anyone have experience buying cars in Nepal. What are the best avenues to look at for the best prices? (Or are the dealer lot cars the only option). I am looking at getting something in the 10-12 lakhs range. It seems that the taxes on cars is so high in Nepal that even at those prices it it hard to find a nice car other than the Maruti 800 or similar models. I just realized that a car costs 3 times as much in Nepal as in the U.S! What a rip-off!

RIP OFF??? Do you think Nepal have a car industry? Have you ever thought that we pay Rs. for a big Spinach in Nepal but it cost about $1 in US. Is this rip off too for you? Car is luxury item in Nepal not in US. Walking is necessity in Nepal it's luxury in US. Luxury I mean only those who wants to work out walks. Wake up man.

In my previous posting I missed Rs. 5 for a big Spinach. Correct it.
