I wish to address my concern over the poor soccer managment and the bad organisation over the soccer game. I'm from Columbus Ohio. We could not play the sunday game due to graduation ceromonies and work responsibilities. This was communicated to the supposily appropriate authority (Rajendra Khatiwoda)
repeatly over the two months period. As well as before the game, Saturday and AGAIN Sunday morning. We were dissapointed that it was mentioned Saturday night that the organisers had announced that we would be playing Nebraska on Sunday at 2:30, knowing that we would NOT be there. I was personally told by Rajendra Khatiwoda that it would be cancelled and the matter would be taken care of. First of all since Michigan lost to Nebraska embarshingly11-0, why were they set to play us next ? They had no possibility to win after that lost. We wanted to and should have played Nebraska instead of playing Michagan ( who we beat 8-0 anyways). Michigan organisers need to get their priorities right ! If you can not organise a 3 team soccer game, then don't. I advise next time you host a game ( if anyone shows up to play ) to get lines men who actually know the rules and do their job instead of sipping coffee and carrying on little chit chats.

i am shame for ohio team whose team was with 5-6 american guy of 6-7 foots. if you can't make team of nepalese why do u want to participate in nepali convention? or you want win championshp with white guys? this is purely nepali convention to promote nepali culture,..

Still, i think they would beat you guys very badly if you guys played with them on sunday. They were very good.

Yes ! we want to play Nebraska...bring it on dude...we got a feild and everything ready here ! I also want to make clear that we have nothing agianst the Michigan team ...they were cool, or the Nebraska team. we are just pissed at the Michigan Soccer Managment ( if that they call it )

Dear Manil ,
Just to let you know that ANMA okayed us two months ago to have american players in our team (and that is our columbus soccer team. we play twice a week all year long). You did not seem to complain about MI having non nepali players. But anyway by saying that " ANMA convention is for Nepalis to promote nepali culture" you are sounding more like KKK my friend. I saw alot of people in this convention who were non-nepalis and were still enjoying their time and having a lot of fun. We are just unsatisfied with the way ANMA handeled the whole thing. Well anyway let's settle this on the field next year (or may be we can have some friendly match in future) rather than flooding this site with unnecessary messages.

Hi Ohio,
I am from MN. We are looking forward to going to DC to play ANA tournament over the 4th of July weekend. We have a good team here. But unfortunately, all of the team members cannot make it to DC due to prior committments, work, vacations, and schedules. However, there are about nine players who can make it.
We want about three strikers, a goal keeper, and a defender. If you guys can fill these positions and looking forward to a soccer weekend, I can give a name and email of a person to contact.

I think we are upto something! Let me talk it over with our kheladis here and where there are up to with this DC thing. As of last weekend, we were for 'not going' since we were short.
I'll see if I can change things with this development. Keep up the soccer spirit.

Somebody needs to beat sence into you.
You should go back to the hole you crawled out of where you can have your pure nepali convention, and play your game with all nepali team. Columbus team represents columbus, oh, nepal, and US the best.

Does anybody know if they are coming to D.C. for ANA convention too? It will be great fun to see a good team like Nebraska play with other teams in ANA convention and maintain the quality of Soccer Tournament in ANA. I am anxiously looking forward to see their play in D.C.

Man you sound racist. I support every one to play the game it does not matter if its white or black nepali or spanish or american. Don't forget you are on their land. So be kind to every body and spread love an peace to every culture and religions.

If the management sucks then ofcourse they walk out. We came over their for playing game not for politics gathering money and making nepal even more poor. Every time I listen to the people they are talking about gathering money and helping nepal. That is not right way to do. Japan, Amreica, other country are giving money why is it not still developed. so whole convention sucks and I hate those old leaders that are present in convention they all suck. All their purpose is to be rich in the name of poor people and contry nepal. You all suck radi ko chora haru.

First of all , it is very unfortunate to know that some blind Nebraska fans are flooding message board with a blatant lie. FYI, Columbus and Nebraska have been officially declared as co-winneres. Some people have already unambiguously described why the much anticipated final game could not be held, so i wont talk anything about that.

I understand what u are trying to say but shame on u the way u expressed.
Tell me what do u mean by nepali player?
Does it mean those nepali who bear nepali passport? I found many people who look ed like nepali but have american citizenship.
Does it mean all players should have born in Nepal? Then what about those NRN?
Does it mean they should look like nepali? Then is it acceptable to have indians and mexican in team?
I am totally perplexed on this stupid question. There is no way you can have a sharp line to include exclusive nepali. I bet you dont have any definition either that would including all so called nepali.
Then what is the solution? All people who are interested in Nepal should be allowed to play irrespective of color. It sounds so unsophisticated to discriminate players based on color.So any one who cares to spend bucks to register in a nepali convention, spends money to have hotel booked and drives or flies for hours to reach the venue is the one who genuinely cares about nepal. And i think he has to be allowed to play. And manil widen ur horizon and have a big heart. I saw Nebraska as well as columbus game. They were both good and the match would have been exciting one.
And Nischal, u are talking about 95. Its 2002 man. last time in ANA also i met many people from Columbus. Young , fresh and wild party goers....
Finally Gorkhe, please restrain from using profanities here . Had not there been those old people and their dream of showing/exposing their wealth, intellect, status, cars and taruni daughters, there would not have been any conventions /soccer/nepali movie exhibition like this.

I understnd there is no line to separate who can play and who can't but you have to use common sense. We could have all Michigan State Soccer team players if we wanted but we did not put a single player.
Ohio knew one month before game date that final was set for Sunday, i heared they called friday night to ask to finish up all games on saturday because those white guys had to go back to work on sunday.....which was not possible for Michigan organizer...not possible to any organizer. if i were in ur team i would have played evenif we had only 9 peoples and besides michigan was willing to give some players if you guys needed...losers..

Manil,
First of all stop calling our friends as "white guys". They care about Nepal and Nepalis as much as we do. Some of them work on Saturdays but took the day off so that we could come there, play soccer and have a good time. They are as close to us as any other Nepali friends who live here. You are the most ignorant Nepali I have ever seen. It's a shame to have someone like you in our Nepali community. Next time you participate in a Nepali function like this make sure you stand by the door and check the color of the skin of all the people who come by.
All of us had to leave Michigan Sunday morning because most of us had other important things to do like attend our cousin's and one of our friend's graduation. Unlike you, we have have a life. We had made this known to Rajendra Khatiwada long before Michigan team was even in the picture. We were ready to play even 2 or 3 game if needed that Saturday. According to Mr. Katiwada,until a week before the convention it was just us and Nebraska who were playing. If you have any questions and do not belive what I'm saying, ask him.
The only thing we were interested in is playing soccer. We came there to play but thanks to Mr. Khatiwada's planning, we could not have the final game with Nebraska. We were looking forward to that. We are very much pissed at Mr. Khatiwada.
Looking forward to playing next summer. If any teams want to get together, play some and have a good time ,let us know. We'll plan something. Let's plan this better next time.

this is just to much talkin and makin big deal about it.the only thing we feel bad about it is we could not play with u guys.We would have great time either we would have loose or win.We are pretty pised up to because we drove almost twelve hours and played only one game ,so we wern't happy with that.we dont have hany thing against any one we play soccer for fun and that is our only ourpose.we are trying to come to d.c. may be we will see u there.
