My dear Biswo,

One thing I greatly appreciate about you is that you use your own name in all your postings.

And so, even when we have (intellectual) disagreements (and, you know that sometimes our disagreements are very strong for others to handle!), you and I always stand behind our ideas and names, and are prepared to deal with consequences!!

This using-our-own-name habit allows us to disagree, move on, agree on some other thing, and then maybe disagree some more, and then agree some other thing, and so on and so forth.

In other words, we keep on getting the benefit of one another's viewpoints, because we TRUST one another to speak up our minds (whether stupidly or brilliantly) by standing behind our own names.

Put another way, one reason I TRUST to have discussions with you, even when our ideas may not match is that you always use your
own name.

I am convinced that this sort of trustworthiness is
important in Nepal-related Web discussions.

Now coming on to this "Shailesh Nath" thing:

In the privacy of your computer terminal, you are free to read or not read these postings and draw or not draw any conclusions -- real or imagined -- that you are able to draw.

In the PUBLIC, however, it's better NOT to get caught in the cross-fire or cross-exchanges of OTHER PEOPLE's postings.

At worst, ignore these postings, and life will go on just fine.
At best, enjoy these exchanges as an entertaining
spectator sport, and let that be just that.

After all, both Shailesh Nath (urf Curious George) and I
are above 18, and can fend for ourselves, come what may.

At the very least, the fact that I am using my own name, and 'Curious George' (lying as he did of having been working
at Wordsworth) is not, just to have a simple [Where's your book? type of] exchange should tell you that NO genuine exchange
of ideas/thoughts/information can take place when one party feels that s/he has to hide while the other party is open and clear.

Hence, I have no problem reducing the whole exchange to a farce,
by mischievously tossing out polite, nice Nepali names, and letting people draw their own conclusions. :-)

So, that's that.

Dear Ashu:

Sorry for being meddlesome.

Actually I didn't want to write that comment. I surely understand
that it was not my business.

Then I remembered those Kumari stuffs.Remembered that you entered
the discussion when I and Rajendra were having discussion on
that topic. I actually didn't mind your entrance. I just wrote my
disagreements.I thought you would not mind my entrance either.

Have fun. Just take that as my disagreement over using real life
names that people can easily guess. Shailesh or Rajesh: I don't
know both of these people.I am also not prejudiced against you,
though I am sure, it is not necessary to write here.

Biswo,

The topic of Kumari, by its nature, is a GENERAL one. Nobody
owns that topic. Anyone can come in and go from that topic
as s/he pleases, and that's fine.

In fact, you must have noticed how no one was interested to
pursue the issue of Kumari further when someone recently posted "Kumari Revisited".

There are specific questions asked of specific individuals and there are general topics asked of anyone who's interested.

I started that thread positively CELEBRATING the successes of two other good friends: Manjushree Thapa and Samrat Upadhyay so that we all can rejoice in their achievments.

Shailesh Nath tried to put me on the spot by asking specfic questions. That was fine. Then with good humor, I accepted his glare, and managed to turned the tables around -- involving
other peoples' philological/etymological contributions.

That's all there is to that.
Clean, fun and entertaining, no matter how one looks
at it.

Now, sure, there could be 1000s of OTHER Shaileshes and Rajeshes and Ashutoshes in the world, and I, for one, am not in the business of pleasing any of them.

If some of them feel offended, well, tough luck!!

Just another day in the life of the GBNC Web site.

God, you are such a piece of work. You can not take criticism, can you? You are such a sore loser! Grow up man.

Dear Ashu:

I don't agree with your differentiation between two cases. Of
course, not two cases will become exactly same if you go to subtle
detail.

But again, I am sorry that I interloped in the discussion.

Good day!
