Do anyone imagine Paras can be a king?....
Doesn't matter Posted on 02-Jun-02 05:43 AM

Why not? Remember King Mahendra? Or Tribhuvan? Or any king for that matter? If you want to live in a kingship, you should be willing to put up with anything.
HahooGuru Posted on 03-Jun-02 02:31 AM

Paras will be definitely better ruler than BRB or Prachanda or Badal. He
has less number of accusations on murder on peoples.

BRB or Prachanda or Badal ruined 23million peoples, killing 5,000 innocent
peoples, but, Paras is said to have ruined 2 families, but,

BRB or Prachanda or Badal have not paid compensations to anyone, but,
accumulated property send their kids to best schools around the world, but,
Paras is said to be regretting for what he did.

Paras did things when intoxicated.

But, BRB or Prachanda or Badal did when not-intoxicated.

I am not talking here who is better, but, I am talking who is much worst.
Unfortunately, being this Kaliyug, its hard to get best person. If good
we should be happy, but, in Nepal we are now passing through a
crisis, where we have to reject the most worst combination, and outside
much worst combination, anything is acceptable.

Kasto lagyo mero kura. I am sure I will get flamed. My purpose was to
flame you guys. This posting is deliberate, not by mistake. Come and
defend with better arguements, at least your posting should get less
flames. I am testing you guys. I will be looking forward to see
your offenses. Kohi chha tyaha khola pari. "Aaija thuwa khelou"
this what we used to challenge when we were kids and the guys
on opposite bank of Seti river in Bachhebuduwa in Pokhara were
standing.

Whoever Posted on 03-Jun-02 08:55 AM

Monarchy is on its way out in Nepal. Get over the insitiution and be prepared to live in a country that will most likely become a republic ( hopefully a democratic non-Maoist one) in our life times.

What he was, was the past,
What he is, is trying his best,
What he'll be, nobody knows,
We can only wish,
For the best to turn out,
For him and for us.

Paras can be a good king. After all if thief can be a great sage (balmikhi) why not Paras. I believe that wisdom is not something that a person is born with, it comes through experiences and age. The issue, however, should not be about morality but about the root of the problems we are facing. Alcohol and substance abuse, this is the issue. I have lost my dearest cousin and a close friend because of drugs. And it does not end there, my own brother and father are addicts too. From my problems to yours to nation, we are all the victims. I dont blame one individual for that unless there are a strict law against it, we will be loosing our near and dear ones. My point is if Paras would not have been under influence of alcohol, two souls would still be alive. So why do our culture promotes alcohol and maruana in the name of Gods and holy scriptures? Calling them 'soma' a holy drink to achieve nirvana, which is mentioned in vedas. I guess our fore fathers intepreted the whole thing so wrong. And sometimes I think there is nobody to understand this root problem.
you should care Posted on 05-Jun-02 08:25 AM

As much as I respect your opinion, it is the dumbest thing I read in a long time. People like you make things hard for everyone. Do you even know if the person wants to live in a kingship?
nobody Posted on 05-Jun-02 09:20 AM

It will depend upon how the father of Paras conducts himself. The future of institution of monarchy now depends upon the choices that the present king makes.
ar Posted on 05-Jun-02 02:49 PM

I know some people dont want to live in kingship and I never mentioned that people want to. All I was saying was Paras can be a good king if that was the argument all about. As for myself I want my country's judicial to be more like US and independent. In practical sense it will take ages for that as we all know the situation in our country and the frustrations felt by us. So why say that my view points are the dumbest one, I would like a justification. I guess thats not too much to ask.
QreUS.. Posted on 05-Jun-02 03:36 PM

AR,

>Paras can be a good king. After all if thief can be a
>great sage (balmikhi) why not Paras"

If that so, how about freeing all the criminals from all of the jails of Nepal ? I am sure a lot of them are going to be great sages.
agree with AR Posted on 05-Jun-02 11:22 PM

I agree with AR. Not all criminals make balmiki but paras is definately trying to be a good person. I remember my teen age days when I did foolish things, don't you? I remember being the worst person I could be when I was drunk.. this is all behind me now. I have given up alcohol, now, I am a good person, a t least that's what I think. This is what I expect of Paras.
