One of my own siblings has been randomly selected for DV 2003. But now we need someone in the US to be the sponsor(to fill out the form I-134). I am wondering if anyone would be able to help or are aware of anyone who can be the sponsor for a small fee. Do you have any suggestions? I could be the sponsor but I don't meet the income requirement. Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Subash,

I don't know if you'll ever find anybody who will be willing to be a sponsor for your sibling without knowing him.

The reason is sponsorship in US is a very serious matter as oppose to in Nepal. In Nepal people say "All you have to do is sign the sponsorship but in reality you will not have to do anything. I'll take care myself"

In US, first of all to sign up as you said you have to have certain income level, 3 years tax filing paper. Then once you sign up the sponsorship paper you'll be completely responsible for 5 years. Within this period if that guy gets into trouble or couldn't find the job etc. the Govt. will come and get the sponsor.

I'll not suggest anybody to sign the paper like that.

The solution for you is: request a job offer from some small Company, store etc. whom you know. This counts same as sponsorship.

Good Luck!

I am trying to find a job opportunity for my sibling, but nothing concrete has showed up yet. I would still be interested if anyone wants to help in the migration and make some money.
