Sundar Shanta Bishal Saanjh: An Evening with Litterateurs [1 hour, July 4, Thursday evening]: This forum, organized in collaboration with International Nepali Literary Society and Academy of Nepali Poets and Writers, will feature literary work of litterateurs writing in English, Nepali and other ethnic languages of Nepal. It will highlight their recent publications, previous and upcoming work. In addition, it will provide a platform for various US-based literary organizations, on-line and paper-based literary journal publishers to discuss their services and network with other litterateurs and readers. Studying in America: Experiences, Needs and Aids [1 hour, July 6, Saturday morning]: This workshop, organized by George Mason University Nepalese Student Association in collaboration with local DC metro student organizations and The Nepal USA Educational Network, will provide information on how organized Nepali student groups can help Nepali students who are either already enrolled in US educational institutions or wish come to the US to pursue higher education. The workshop will cover topics such as helping new students with admissions, financial assistance, orientation, language assistance, on-campus employment and career opportunities; introducing Nepali social and cultural heritage on campus, and bringing Nepali issues to mainstream America. Make Your Mark: A Career Advancement Workshop [1 hour, July 6, Saturday afternoon]: This workshop, organized in collaboration with Nepal Youth Organization (NYO), will provide information on professional, research, student exchange and volunteer opportunities available in the US and Nepal. Professional and research opportunities in both the public and private sectors will be explored in areas such as information technology, engineering, healthcare, management, consulting, economics, finance, environment, and legal. The workshop will feature professionals and scholars from the above areas along with recruiters to answer participants’ career pursuit queries.
