Has India been involved in Maoist Insurgency? According to Clear thinking Academic Saubhagya Shah there may have been Indian Involvement in Maoist Insurgency in Nepal at the Asia Society forum in New York. The article is titled "Indian Position in the fight against Maoists unclear: former US envoy" http://www.chakrapath.com/maoinsurtalk.htm

of course india is involved. it's just the nature and extent of involvement that remain unclear. isn't it ironic that india's on it's high horse about pakistan facilitating cross-border terrorism in kashmir at the same time that india is facilitating cross-border terrorism in nepal?!

Chitra KC as always defends Maoists and in this so called talk programme too, he tries to defend Maoists by defending Indian Govt. Its not surprising to see Chitra KC's face defending Maoists. He is looking for a way to return to Nepal, because he has Ph.D., which he want sell it to become a minister or some Planning commission member, with "Honerable Dr. Chitra KC" title. I think peoples of NY, can start calling him "Honerable Dr. Chitra KC". HG

hi dudes, Nepal has to undergo with many difficulties and hardships. You can not blame any party or any nation of this Maoist Probems. This problem is the outcome of social and economic injustice. Nepal need change in its social, political and economic sectors. Any revolutionary change can be replaced by radical not the liberals. But, liberals can prevent this type of problem on time. NC is a consurvative so it can never prevent from any problems in the country. God bless Nepal..

I just don't understand why countires, if they do, interfare in the affairs of other contries. I mean, isn't it a way down low and a dirty thing to do? Only really mean people would want to see other people hurt, let along country of India's stature. Well, I don't know if India is involved, if they are, I pity them. Somebody who has all the time in the world to meddle in other's affirs can't hope to set its own house in order (they wont have time to). They'll have to continue living in misery. Nobody has prospered making others miserable. If they haven't understood this simple law of nature, they have really a long way to go. I'm confused, so help me out.

It could be a possibility that India is partly involved in Nepal's crisis. I believe that the fault lies fully in the Nepalese people going to India for help. If India was sending militants to Nepal, as Pakistan doing in J&K, India’s involvement could be objectionable. That being not the case, India's involvement can not be against the Nepalese interest.

And do you know that Krishna was involved in the battle of Mahabharata? But he was not fighting the battle. And his side won at the end. It could be a similar one if India is involved in Nepal's crisis.
