Could this be the reason why Team Argentina is now eliminated? Just a question, no offence to Argies fans out there.

This must be a art work of a very very disgruntled Argie fan.

Cool picture-- But I have to say that Argentina missed many oportunities. Was interesting. Same with Uruguay while playing with Senegal..---

Received this via e-mail, so thought about sharing it, Interesting stuff ahead of world cup. - Brazil last won the world cup in 1994. - Before that they won it in 1970. 1994 + 1970 = 3964. - Argentina last won the world cup in 1986. - Before that they won it in 1978. 1986 + 1978 = 3964. - Germany last won the world cup in 1990. - Before that they won it in 1974. 1990 + 1974 = 3964. So going by this logic, the winner of the world cup 2002 will be 3964 - 2002 = 1962. The 1962 world cup was won by Brazil.

but the logic fails when you go back to Italy's record. Italy last won the world cup in 1982, before they won it in 1938. 1982+1938 = 3920 3964-3920 = 44 Who is going to take care of carry_over "44" ?

Intersting Logic. There is no wonder Brazil gonna win this world cup since they are one of the Underdog-teams this year, and everyone is busy checkin' out other countries but Brazil, while Brazil is having cool time chillin' out winning all the games. JIRA, I think that logic doesn't work in Italy's case because there was no world cup played between 1938 to 1950 due to various problems world wide including WW2 and after math of it. carryover 44 is the result of continuity gap. So don't count on Italy this time.

Freek! you are right, there was no world cup played between 1938 to 1950 due to WW II but the last world cup played before world war II was in 1938 when Italy beat Czechoslovakia ( 2-1). For your knowledge: 2002 Japan/South Korea 1998 France Brazil 3-0 France 1994 Brazil Italy 0-0 (3-2 SO) United States 1990 West Germany Argentina 1-0 Italy 1986 Argentina West Germany 3-2 Mexico 1982 Italy West Germany 3-1 Spain 1978 Argentina Holland 3-1 (ET) Argentina 1974 West Germany Holland 2-1 West Germany 1970 Brazil Italy 4-1 Mexico 1966 England West Germany 4-2 (ET) England 1962 Brazil Czechoslovakia 3-1 Chile 1958 Brazil Sweden 5-2 Sweden 1954 West Germany Hungary 3-2 Switzerland 1950 Uruguay Brazil 2-1 Brazil 1938 Italy Hungary 4-2 France 1934 Italy Czechoslovakia 2-1 (ET) Italy 1930 Uruguay Argentina 4-2 Uruguay

Hey Jira, i don't understand what you are trying to prove, but I think i don't need to take a knowledge from you on soccer. Coz i can get it from Fifaworldcup.com. What i said was there was no WC game after 1938 till 1950, so before 1950 whoever wins doesn't really matter. Because after 1938 there was continuity gap. know what i mean? By the way you straighten your facts. Italy didn't beat checkslovakia in 1938 but 1934. You can check the list you have provided with.

I am not trying to prove you are wrong if that is what you were refering to. Sorry! If I hurt your feeling, I was just trying to show that there was world cup in 1938 and the Itlay had it and then they won again in 1982 after that. Yes! you are right, that is what I have been repeteady saying that there was no world cup during WW II period (1938-1950) excluding the year 1938. Sorry! my bad, Italy beat Check in 1934. Please no further arguement!! All I am trying to say was just this simple math for Italy's record 1938 + 1982 = 3920 ( that is where this 44 years matter according to the logic). However, I am not even saying that whoever brought this topic was wrong. He just thought of sharing this ( that is what he said ). It was nice to see the co-incidence even that it has little cranny in 1982. That is the end of the story. Sorry, I lost.

Mitra! Argentina broke my heart too. I do not know who to support now except for Brazil. I never liked England, Germany since they have been all time enemies for my Argies. England looked strong this year. Italinos are just struggling. Germans are like always before. It will be miracle if Italinos make it to final. You never know though, it is world cup. Soccer fan! dhoop butti baldai garnu, you wll not have to be upset like me. That works :-) But you know what!! I am for these chinkooooooous all the way up to their last point. Sometimes, I see final ..Japan VS Brazil. You never know, it is world cup again. BTW, I started to have feeling for Senegal. It will be too good to be true when I dream Sengal lifting the Golden cup. Again my imagination..Once again!!! it is world cup

I am rooting for South Korea and Japan. So sick and tired of European or South American teams winning the cup. GO SOUTH KOREA GO JAPAN

agreed with vagabond! I have moral support for our Asian teams all the way. After all, home teams are supposed to be the favorites to win the cup based on world cup histroy. If they exit early, world cup festivities should go on.I can't wait to see Mexico's a$$ kicking game vs. US. No offense to US soccer (not football for god's sake!) fans, but crazy hooligans throughout the world deserve this cup. I wana see latinos go crazy on Monday morning :)
