NC going to split into N and C. Is this good for the country ? Certainly good for Sher. Blow for Koirala. My congratulation to Mr. Sher. Bad Day for Koirala. Who is going to get the tree sign in the election ? This will be like UML & ML split and merge again. However in case of ML they weren't able to win the election this might be the case for Koirala fraction. What do you think ? Other thought - World Cup final SEN vs KOR . any other guess. If either SEN or KOR wins the worldcup Mr. Sher will led the country into correct direction.

Good that Girija is doing down. Sher will get the tree sign and name for the election since he got the majority. This time Girija needs to register a new party.

It is big blow to Girija in the Nepal Congress History. Once Girija dies or leaves or kicked out of party, Deoba will merge into Nepali Congress and Girija Gang will be in minority. Ram Chandra Poudel will always try to bring Deoba back and this is one reason Ram Chandra Poudel did not leave the party, because Ram chandra's exit will make the monopoly of Girija Gang. By not leaving Girija Congress, Girija gang will have another sub group, which will be more fargile than the current one. HG

Once Deoba group has clear majority, Girija will leave the party or will be kicked out of party with the help of Ram Chandra Poudel's support. They are trying to make sure that Deoba faction really has weight or not. It will go to court and then, something will happen. I am afraid, Girija may die of heart attack before something else happens. HG

UML will have the majority in this upcoming election in the lower house. Not because UML is a good (let alone the best) party but because of bhai fute gawar lute. Nepal greatly lacks the infrastructure for development. Just a party can't develop a nation. Comrade haru ko nara le desh bandaina. NC-UML-RPP and other parties exist in Nepal only for one thing- POWER. Parliamnet will be full of suckers again unless common people realize that they own the parliament.

I have read somewhere a satire about democracy and election. In democracy people can choose their own leaders who will work for the betterment of the nation. In fact they do not. No choice ..... There are parties. There are candidates from each party. But see who is the candidate? Just those corrupt politicians who get ticket from that party with hook or crook means.... People have choice only to select less Badmas of many Badmasses. Whoever wins... he/she is Badmas afterall.... This was the theme of that satire and I hope it fits vividly to our situation in Nepal.

Nepali Congress elects Deuba as party president PTI [ WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 2002 1:44:01 PM ] KATHMANDU: Nepal's ruling party on Wednesday elected caretaker Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to be its new president, consolidating his power within the strife-torn organisation. Deuba was elected uncontested by a national convention of the Nepali Congress (NC) held in Kathmandu, officials said. The NC, on Tuesday threw out the former president, Girija Prasad Koirala, after he expelled Deuba from the party last month for three years in protest at his recommendation to King Gyanendra to dissolve parliament and call early elections. The convention also overturned the expulsion order on 56-year-old Deuba. "We are very much delighted that we have been able to choose Deuba as the Nepali Congress party president," said deputy home minister Devendra Raj Kandel, one of Deuba's aide. "I am pleased to say that a person of Deuba's stature has been elected as the NC president who represents the younger generation of party, which will help to consolidate democracy and stability in the country. Koirala has made no public comment on his removal, but had earlier said the convention, which was called by Deuba, was "illegal" because it was called by an expelled member. Chakra Prasad Bastola, former foreign minister and aide of Koirala, alleged that some of those attending the convention were not official delegates. "Many of the participants are false and this was done w without honouring the party constitution and norms," he said. But minister of state for physical planning and technology, Bal Bahadur Balayar, refuting the charge said "The election of Deuba is legal and constitutional since there are enough delegates here." http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow.asp?art_Id=13457078

HG Jee, Seems like you are a big fan of RC Poudel. But for me (some one who is from Tanahun) this is what I see. 1) RCP does not have any patients. Try to remember how many times he changed his position and lobby. 2) He was DPW/home minister. His performance during that time was very poor. Remember Dune Kanda. It tells how skillful/capable he is. He was failure during his tenure. Govinda Raj Joshi was much better than RCP as a home minister. Remember the law and order situation was during last election when GRJ was the home minister. Though, I am not a fan of GRJ, I admire him how he conducted election. 3) Believe me, RCP will be thrown out of Koirala camp again. And GRJ will lead for that effort. RCP will be back to Deuba camp again. 4) In Tanahun, RCP lacks workers/followers. RCP is lucky – he is from the area where NC has a strong hold. But, if RCP run against GRJ or any other local leaders, RCP will loose election. HE WILL LOOSE! No Doubt! For me he is just superficial leader. HE TALK TO MUCH AND DOES LESS. He can be DPM and again NOT PM! _________

I have no doubt that Sher pannel will make next govt since security is in their control. What do you think ? Support from palace, Army, Police, & people. What else do you need. I would like to see GPK being defited badly this election. It would be like Brasil loosing final with France.

Still I do not understand why the hell RC Poudel joined with GP Koirala. I heard that Poudel was all set to be President of Deuba's party. I think RCP should have been with Deuba rather than betraying Deuba. Well, these power hunger Netas are unpredictable. THEY JUST AFTER POWER/CHAIR. And RC Poudel is no different that KB Khadka and Gachhedar.

Why did RCP join the mainstream congress? He must have evaluated that being the President of Deuba faction was worth less than being(in the near future) the VP or GS of the mainstream congress. The so called bhela of Deuba was a crowd with hired people masquarading as general convention members. There were hardly 450 out of somewhere around 1400 members. He must have seen this. What is important here is that the media has played foul presenting and installing a wrong picture just like that of Paras and Dipendra are presented. We are all being taken for a ride by the media. One positive outcome of this bad situation in Nepal is the decrease of committed voter of all parties. Now the swing votes in Nepal has increased drastically and they are the ones who will play the major role in future election results if ever a fair poll is held.Deuba and his breakaway faction will come to their senses on Kartik 28 with hardly any seats. Uml will form the government and Mainstream congress the main opposition. Just a thought!

What Jhor said is almost match with my analysis, except the election result in Kartik 28 on Deoba group. As I already said yesterday that Girija group needs mass media and govt. owned utilities. Here Deoba is head of the council of ministers. Doeba is ultimate head and he has monopoly in cabinet like Girija has monopoly in NC 's CWC. So, Girija congress will finally, welcome Deoba and Khum Bahadur, and rest like Gachhedar, Wagle will be left no where like a ship sailing at the middle of sea without its captain. Wagle is mastermind in forming the groupism since beginning and girija group will divide the group and Deoba will be returned to Kangress and Wagle will be left out. The problem will be solved. Wagle is corrupt as we have already seen in Melmachi project issues, and Gacchhedar ... and all, but, Prakash Man singh will also get graceful invitation because of his influence among KTM voters. Well, in this process some ugly guys in NC (girija group ) will also be washed away. Either GRJ will loss (because Khume being his rival, and Khume has more weight in terms of Western voters), and Arjun NC who will also loss once Khume finds a place. Well, all these guys are corrupts, but, here Khume is more kangress than Arjun KC or Govinde, therefore, these two guys will be turned back to mangal man. Shailaja will lead Koirala family to demoralize Sujata. Its going to happen in a few weeks. Just keep on watching. HG

Hahoo dai, FIY Prakash Man is very unpopular in Ktm. You think otherwise coz you have been presented in that way. He is surviving only because of his father`s legacy. Of-course he has a good following just like Jagat Gauchan in the Panchayat era. He received high votes in GC coz Shailaja, RCP and the likes of Prakash Koirala campaigned for him. He literally begged for voted asking the voters to remember his father` face. GM was great but PM not an iota.

I think Pancha will make next gov. merging with SherBDeuba. Both are loyal to palace & Army & police will make them win from west nepal. Regarding east, UML & Mainstream congress will be 30% each and 40% divided to other parties. I strongly feel crongress will have this kind of fuid till there remains Koirala family. What is the difference between ranas & koiralas.
