"The government has declared a public holiday throughout the Kingdom on June 23, the day on which King Gyanendra and Queen Komal will be leaving for New Delhi on a state visit to the Republic of India and on June 28, the day on which they will return home, the Home Ministry said." -Nepalnews.com, June 22, 2002 What the &%$#!!! what are these public holidays for? Tihar ma chahi tika kai bholipalta office khulne...ahile chahi raja rani bharat jane/aaune pura adhirajya bhar bida? How appropriate is this decision of the the government? To me, this is just plain stupid and lousy decision. kehi aauchitya chhaina. May be others know better. What do you guys think? Ke aauchitya chha ta?

Kehi auchityaa chianaaaa,,, all dharraa matra hoo. Coz all big people are in their place cox of the blessings they get from their superior (something like the heavenly bodies in the space,, all r in their place coz of the force of attraction and support from each other) . All netas although they show to be against king,, they do ghatiya chakari of king..(tak pare tiwari,, natra gotameee) Only the intellectuals think that these sort of holidays are stupid,, but thier voice is never heard. our nation,, its terrible. may god bless our nation and help bring changes. Afnoo desh ko maya laagchaa nii tara kee garnuu,, nothign in my control... malai ta desh koo sthiti dekhera runu maan laagchaa. Ke garnoo,, dako chodera pani kehi bandaina....

Sparsha, It is not a government's "decision" to declare holidays on those two days. This is not something that governement has worked upon and came up to a conclusion on. The tradtion of declaring holidayson those "special occasions" has been there for a while and it's not easy for the government to change it even if it was desired by some government officials. Jhapali mitra, desh ko sthiti dekhera runa ta malai pani mann lagchha, tara ke garne, timi jastai maile pani aasu jharna nasakeko matra.

Uhi, There was/is no auchitya for declaring public holidays on royal couple's departure/arrival days in the entire kingdom. You may have noticed govt. has cut down many public holidays. The govt. can cut short Dashain/Tihar ka bidaharu but can't kick out a lousy tradition of declaring holidays on THEIR MAJESTIES visits (aauda janda)?. Why do you think it is necessary to shut down the entire kingdom for raja rani ko kehi dine bhraman ko bidai-swagat samaroh? To me, these holidays are completely aauchitya-hin. WAHIYAT!!!!! hami (sabai nepali) madhaye bahu-sankhyak lai ta euta sano jhupro ma jaso taso jyan dhakera hat-mukh jorne byabasta milauna lai nai fursad chhaina...desk ko bikas-prajatantra-etyadi ta kebal nara haru matrai hun. baki ali ali budhijibi bhanaudaharu pani awasarbadi ra soshak chhan. Desk ko maya garne ta thorai chhan..sadahai ALPA-MAT ma...ani dukhi janata lai dhoka ko netritwa dine haru chichyai chichyai bhanchhan...prajatantra bhaneko BAHU-MAT ko sasan ho. yastai chha. dhalne chhan yi sosak haru ka din haru pani chadai nai. yiniharu ko din dhaleko sanjh le nik-kai dukha-ko rat bolayera layune chha yi atya-chari haru lai uphar swarup. Tyas pachhi udaune chha hamro surya sabai nepali haru ko lagi. before some one declares me maobadi...let me make myself clear. I AM NOT A MAOBADI. I am also against corruption, bad governance, injustice...etc. but I don't think I need to be a maoist to protest bad governance.

sparsha, keep in mind that cutting down those (bhraman) holidays are "technically" not as easy as cutting down dashain and tihar holidays.

Sparsha, I composed a long- enough message to make you clear about these holidays, but for some reason, the site showed " a processing error". ( I am sure you know how it feels to suddenly lose a long essay that you have just finished typing with no backup. Btw San, what was that all about ? ). Here's what my bottom line to your reply was : No gov official will ever stand against the palace protesting the "auchitya" of these holidays and the government will always take these holidays just like normal weekend holidays. Although I haven't given you enough reasons, I hope you understand why.
