All DC bound folks,
There is a big Nepali Party with 3 DJs in "THE DEEP" inside the Sharks Club on 4th of July, thursday. The Club is only 3.5 miles from the ANA convention and that's the place to be on thursday night. Spread the word around. Flyers will be distributed with further informations. Get ready to party DC-Style.

i am from this area and i am not aquainted with this club, the shark club or whatever. could you possibly send more information or people with end up believing that this is another one of those nasty jokes. does that club even have a website or something that would be of use. please send the information and i will spread the word around

What i heard from the rumorville that there's gonna B three djs spinning house, dance hindi and nepali music, about 20 pool tables 2 big bars and LOTSA LOTSA PREETY GIRLS....................Free shuttle to and from the Hotel so NO driving.
Looks like i'm there.

Tthere are a lot of Nepali dance number. It all depends on how you want to dance. Do u want to dance in a nepali way or in the kagtali way.
Genius people don't look upon others to create things for them. They do it themselves.
But some creative nepali musicians have created some very good nepali songs. For example "Deurali Ko Chautari Ma". Ofcourse if you want to copycat other western people dancing then sorry boy, it won't work. You have to have that nepali para. Another good song is "malai nepali maya man parcha". Again no help for u here. Since you don't know how to dance.

And what does dancing in "kagtali way" mean? Whatever it means, it sounds fun. Does it mean dancing like a Kag (crow)? I'd love to see someone dance like a Kag. He he.
You either must be very creative or a fun person.
Also, I heard only 5% of the whole party music will be hindi. That should be okay compared to the percentage of people who would want to dance (listen) to hindi. I'm guessing this would be about 50%.

there are various nepali songs that we all can dance on and some of them are..
wari jamuna pari jamuna
bajo khetma
malai nepali maya chaincha
and there are lots more
and we can also dance on english songs like disco etc.
lets stick with our own nepali hits.
if there will be dhoti shit then me and my friens will boycott this party shit.
we nepalis hate dhotis and they (dhotis) will never be liked by any nepalis ever.

As much as I have my reservations about India and Indians, I find it funny when I hear fellow Nepalis spit vitriol when hindi or India is mentioned in one breath and then talk about something else that derives (gazal) from hindi or Indian as if it were the best thing that happened to Nepal/Nepalis.

You know observer, I use to feel like that about India and Indians. Talking about music, I use to hate India music and hindi movies, but on my journey, I found it's all m usic. It just depend upon how you look at it. It's all about FAMIY.

I think this is the best thing at the ANA convention apart from the Soccer and Basketball tournament. Kudos to DC Youth for Organizing it because the last few years there wasn't anything of this sort planned for the younger generation. Way to go DC Youth - let's get together and have fun and paaaaaaarty!!

if you're talking about bideshis, then you're talking about nepalis whose home is not nepal. another group, pardeshi nepalis, is probably your intended audience. let's turn your second question around: has any nepali pardeshi NOT thought of going back to nepal? also, why didn't you allege that WB/IMF promote poverty elsewhere besides asia and africa? do you think they're not doing what you allege in those other regions?

Dear Jhilke,
I totally agree with you. Being a youth and having participated in past conventions, this year programs are great inprovement. As we all know that Youths are the backbone of a community as well as the future of a country, involving them in different activities is always great idea.
I would like to thank ANA, co-onvener Simon Dhungana and DC Yuts for their vision to create more activities for the youths this year beside the usual soccer and cultural program of the past conventions.
See u all in the convention as well as @ sports venues, forums and ofcourse @ the party.

Let's not get carried away with all this shit. The party is open to all and if indian or Latinos wants to come down to have some fun with Nepalis, i don't see anything wrong with that. But the Party is for Nepalis and we will do what pleases us - from playing Nepali songs to dancing "Jyaure". I heard the capacity of that Hall is only 350-400 so get there early and have fun. As far as i have heard that the crowd will be around 90% Nepalese and 10% melting pot. So if you have problem with that then stay home, while most of the youths will be having fun. By the way I am on vacations so I am gonna have blast.

It's 10 dollars to get in because the cost of renting a place like that was high. And it only has the capacity to hold 350-400 people. But we got a deal with the drinks, 3 dollars for domestic beer, 4 for imported and 5 dollars for drinks. That should make up for the cover chagre. Come by and have some fun. Peace.

I am just organizing the Party at "THE DEEP" but i can help u with some of ur answers. I foud out yesterday that all the rooms at the Marriots are gone but there is a Homestead Suite near by. A friend of mine is staying there and according to him, it's 54 dollars a night for a suite. Which means 4-5 of u can share that cost. U can find out more about the ANA convention at ana-home.org.
I think u should come down and have some fun. This year, we the youths of DC, have done our best to make it a enjoyable weekend for everyone. There is something for everyone. hope to see u here, have a safe trip.

I was one of the djs at the shark club party, But I was very surprised to see My name listed here, dj samir, Whoever is posting under my name better stop it right now. Why is it so much fun to post it under someones name. Regarding latinos and indians being there I have no clue what the hell you were trying to say or to do. Man that was lame. Any way, we god damn rocked the party and for your kind info we played dhoti music too. I bet you could not stop rocking your ... Overall, I would like to thank very one of you for your support , sare without you it could have not been what it was, Amu. I heard everyone was praising new kid on the block and last but not the least Asiantric for believing in underground roots. Big ups for the dc crew for putting up with this party.

I did not attend all of ANA convetion shows, but the ones that I went to, sucked ass...except the "Deep" club party.
Deep club DJ's kicked ass, all of them. I hope to see more of that next year. Every night after the 4th, was void without Asiantric, DJ Samir and the DJ Sare. Good luck to all and thanks for those great nights.

The crowd was awesome. Better than any local parties in New York or Dallas or elsewhere. Unlike local public parties, people didn't keep going up to the DJ booth asking them to play this and play that. Also, amazingly, I didn't see any fights break out. Surprised also to see the crowd's tolerance for a little bit of good dhoti music too. (Good Music is Bonne Musique is Buena Música is Gute Musik is Ramro Music. Free music from politics).
I'd say this would be a perfect Nepali party crowd. I'd like to see a party of this standard be maintained/improved in the future ANA conventions, unofficially if not officially. A party for the young, the hip, the crazy...a party for everybody who wants to party.
Thanks to all of you who came and made this party possible. Thanks also to the organizers: Kanchan and DJ Asiantric.

Everytime I think about last week, puts a smile on my face...DC people kick ass....all those party people kick ass too... I really wanna thank you all for giving me one of the best days ever...thank you party organizers....Samir dai, thanks for your help, yourself you da man...without your grooves, the crowd would've never warmed up...Asiantric, you are just amazing...thanks for letting me tweak them knobs... DJ sare....:o)...I will see you tomorrow....we should prepare for next year....DJ every night :o)...Denver here we come........
