you're half right. you'll see only what the author believes are the negative consequences of the "All-American Meal" (your words or Schlosser's?).
if you visit the site of the ronald mcdonald house http://www.rmhc.com/ , then you'll see what the maker of the "All-American Meal" says it is "Doing" to the "World".
