Fairfax County declares Friday Nepal Day
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has declared Friday July 5 as "Nepal Day" in Fairfax County commending this observance to all its citizens, the U.S. Embassy said Wednesday. The Nepali community in the U.S. is small but growing.
The Association of Nepalis in the Americas (ANA) under the theme "Making Our Mark: Nepalis in North America" will hold its annual convention at the Westfield Marriott Conference Center in Fairfax County, Virginia, the same day.
ANA is an organization of people of Nepali origin in the Americas and international friends of Nepal. It was founded on July 1983 in New York and incorporated in Washington D.C. the same year as a non-profit tax exemption organization.
