Where on earth have they disappeared? I think they should come back to Sajha. Quickly and with full vigor. I miss them yaar. It's kind of getting lonely here on Sajha. I guess respected HG is pissed at some stuff. But the great Sajha legend that he is, he can't betray us for good. He will be back. I think Nepe is around flirting in various poetic avatars. But we want the real Nepe back! And Arnico, I know where you are and what you are doing, but it'd be great to see you here too. I'm really enjoying making new friends and talking with them, but I miss the oldies yaar. Even NK and Ashu are infrequent these days. Only Biswo is in regular form. And VV is subdued after World Cup. Come on guys, for old times sake? Was there ever a golden period on Sajha? Or am I just longing for a past that never existed?! Timi haru dulo baata naniskine ho bhane, ma pani aba haraunchhu - daxini china ko jungle tira. Serious.

Paschim, Kay garne yaar? Kaam, kaam and too much kaam these days. Ah, the hazards of being promoted for working very hard last year :-) BTW, I meant kaam as in "work" in Nepali bhasa, and NOT kaam as in its literal Sanskrit meaning :-) oohi ashu ktm, nepal

Paschim, It's no surprise that I do not exist for you but you do with a mark to me. I am an ardent fan of your sweet, down-to-earth writing. HG, Biswo, Nepe, Ashu, NK, and other friends of yours make sajha a lively place. I don't contribute, perhaps, as others-directly- but as a regular visitor to this site, I am also indirectly promoting sajha. Paschim, sajha ma hami pani chham. Indirectly nai bhaye pani hamro astitwa lai nakarna bhayena. Ani sajha lai afno amulya sabda ra byakyan le dhanya gardai jane kram lai nirantarta dine nai chhau bhanne asha lai spasta pardai bida lidai chhu, ahil lai. jay Paschim.

Above, what I meant to write was, You are missing only those who you think are good but not giving a damn perhaps for others who are also posting stuff here at sajha with vigor. Their vigor , it seems to me, to you is like a junkiri flashing her blinker at a broad day light on a sunny Jeth Chitwan day. Please note, "their" in previous sentence embraces me as well. Thikai chha. Tiraskrit bhayera nai gujara garnu parla. Ani Paschim guru, hajoor le chahi lekhna chodera hamila mithas purna lekhai ko rasaswadan bata banchit nagrai-baksiyos ni. hai? Hatteri, Sparsha and Deep, tyesto prahaar? Tyo ta milena ni. Dukhchha kya. I mentioned clearly, "I am enjoying making new friends and talking with them, but I miss the oldies". I treat all of you as my new friends and of course most valued readers. Astitwo swikaar nagarne ta kurai chhaina. But the names I mentioned go back quite a long way to my early days on Sajha. HG sanga ta 1994 dekhi ko cyber-sambandha (although he probably doesn't know). And when I get a chance and when the matter is of interest to me I actively post ni tapain haru le suru gareko thread ma pani, hoina ra? Your great thread on "Yassai" for example. Similarly, I've talked literature and politics with Bagmati. Deep-ji, I also read your "Churos". I wanted to post, but honestly, I didn't know what maltabara meant and so missed the climax. I felt hopelessly ignorant. Pacchi matra thaha bhayo it was a Newari word. Do keep up your elegant writing. Thank you for your kind words. Of course I'm not deserting Sajha. Hijo sarhai bore bha thyo. Aba kam (kaam hoina) charkela jasto chha arko ek-dui hapta. After some bishraam, I'll be back soon.

Hi Paschim: I also very much miss Nepe's wits, Arnico's writings marinated with visionary thinking about Nepal, and irrepressible contextual logics of Hahooguru. NK is probably in ANA convention these days. Deepji posts sometimes, but posts very good anectodal articles. And Sparshaji, sad that I couldn't attend ANA so missed opportunity to meet you again, but I hope next year tyo ANA bhanne chij American Heartland tira pani aaulaa ra bhetghaat garamlaa:-) Btw, I was thinking these guys were probably commisioned by Paschim for searching a suitable madam.Huh, I was wrong , it seems. Anyway, if anyone is volunteering, make sure to search a girl with >=1 beautiful younger sister.

Paschim ji, May be some of your sajha oldies are having too much fun at DC convention making you so lonely out there. I saw a couple sajha-ites taking part in poetry competition last night, including your friend Tirtha. Although he did not win this time, his 'chat maya' was well written and I enjoyed it very much. Another kabi from sajha presented a gajal in non-competitive category and that was superb.'‘Hridaya-ranjan' garaune ooha.ko gajal sune pachhi lagyo sakshayat Nepe ko darshan milyo, but I may be wrong. I don't remember his name (it would be inappropriate to disclose his name anyway!), but whoever he is, being his number one fan already, I would humbly request him to post his gajal at sajha. Same goes to Tirtha. Paschim ji, kam, kaam-sutra ko sathai pranaya-sutra ko soch garema loneliness doooooooor hunthyo ki? :) BTY, I met you in DC last year during the reception party of Puskar Shah at Mt. Everest Restaurant.

Sparsa ji, I had the same problem to meet with sajha-ites. If you get a chance, please stop by at registration desk from 3-6 today. My name tag is written as 'Volunteer, Washington DC'. It would be great to see you there. After all, I'm fan of yours too :)

Thank you Paschim and Biswo for your fond memory and the summon. How can I refuse friends like you ? I will certainly report to my duty in Sajha, perhaps after the weekend. Biswo, It would be a great honor for me to be commissioned to look for a suitable madam for Paschim and you. Though I am not sure about my qualification. I am not proud of it, but I have done sinister jobs of helping several friends and relatives to break up rather than to unite. Somehow I am exposed to the negative side of life mostly. Anyway, perhaps the best place at this moment to be is ANA convention. However, the report of Thursday says there was not an encouraging presence of eligible women there. Sparshaji might give more accurate account. The applaud of the crowd, notably some young ladies among them, received by the Chat-maya was encouraging initially. However, they deserted the hall leaving behind the poor mature kabis without audience, one of my kabi mitra reported to me in tears, well almost. I gotta go now. See you soon. I wasn't away. I was just too much depressed and disappointed to have energy to write. Will talk about it later. I was, however, enjoying some of recent nice threads like Dr,Zivago, Bideshi Nepalese, Protesting KS' death, RCP, National Anthem, Writing stories, Nepal through the eyes of an American friend and The Lion In Winter.

Hi Ashu, Paschim, Biswo and all other fellow Sajha-ers. I hope you are having a great summer. I am particularly jealous about those who are in DC now. I met some wonderful people there last year - remember, Paschim, we discussed a bit of GBNC and irrepressible Ashu, who was in the middle of some lively exchanges with his sommerville crowd :) Just as Paschim has noted, there's a depressing lull after an action-packed world cup as far as i am concerned. but more than anything else, i have been mis-managing my time (never been very good at time management in any case!), and fighting summer blues (as Nepe) the last few days. To those who are at ANA, I would love to hear from you. And to NK, Helloooooo. I am sorry. I just couldn't make it. It's a long story. But basically, Friday (July 5) is/was supposed to be my working day. I don't know about others, but at least you are missing me. Or so I hope :)

Paschim... you, of all people, should not be complaining about my disappearance from here!!! You know what I am spending my free time doing! >I also very much miss Nepe's wits, Arnico's >writings marinated with visionary >thinking about Nepal, and irrepressible >contextual logics of Hahooguru. Biswo, thanks for the compliments... I am not sure about visionary... wishful thinking perhaps... or perhaps plain dreaming sometimes... trying to imagine the plausible, rather than first looking at the obstacles in the way... I apologize for my disappearance. I have been logging into sajha.com daily, almost addictively... even at 4 in the morning in the transit lounge in Bangkok airport. Usually there is so much to read that I either need 4 hours to write responses to everything that interests me (and I usually don't have such time)... or I need the peace of mind and clear thinking to write a longer piece... and that too needs the right condition to happen. I was in Nepal for four weeks in late May / early June. Super busy going around, meeting people, working on my research, taking in experiences... had lots that I wished to share with sajha, but no time to write from there... some of those experiences will trickle into my writings over the coming months for sure. I am also currently participating with Paschim on a Nepal related project (the nature of which I cannot reveal in an anonymous forum), that will at best result in some real impacts, and at the least teach us some interesting lessons in long-distance co-authorship. > >Btw, I was thinking these guys were probably >commisioned by Paschim for >searching a suitable madam.Huh, I was wrong , > it seems. No, not commissioned by Paschim for THE SEARCH, but yes, trying to keep up with its ups and downs... brings back distant memories of that time, long ago, when I too was single... when the world seemed lonelier but also simpler, and I had more control over my time...

Now, since most his oldies responded to this thread, Paschim is smiling somewhere I guess. Mitra2, I was there at the convention center this morning for the inauguration. more people were outside the hall than inside. What's up with that? To me, it was boring. So, I left. Now I am going back there for DC dabli this evening. I try to be there before 6 Pm. But there are a lot volunteers around registration desk. How do I know who is Mitra2? could you please also write something somewhere on that nametag? How about "ENJOY" ? Nepe, as soon as Ms. Bama Dhungana's book matter came up, people started to desert the auditorium. It was really sad. Khahare jasto pahila ta urleko thiyo bhid pachhi ta sat-sut. Ani Bulbul haru ko barema ta....pachhi bhanam-la.....kya....bawal!

Wow, three birds replying in one hours!! Nepeji, glad you are back. Report is that you recited a great gazal (in samjhanaa of great oohi nirdayi NK, I guess!) and one day, I hope I will be able to listen to your reciting. villageVoiceji, Summer blues huh? Hope things get better soon:-) Time is the greatest cure, they say. (And summer won't last long) >Biswo, thanks for the compliments... I am not sure about visionary... wishful thinking >perhaps... or perhaps plain dreaming sometimes... trying to imagine the plausible, >rather than first looking at the obstacles in the way... Arnico, having shared the knowledge of at least one of your dreams, I would not term that 'wishful'. Very few people around dare to dream the way you do, and very few people can convince others that the goal they are dreaming is realizable the way you do. Good luck for disseration ! > >Btw, I was thinking these guys were probably >commisioned by Paschim for >searching a suitable madam.Huh, I was wrong , > it seems. >No, not commissioned by Paschim for THE SEARCH, but yes, trying to keep up with >its ups and downs... brings back distant memories of that time, long ago, when I >too was single... when the world seemed lonelier but also simpler, and I had more >control over my time... When you quoted what I wrote, you omitted the most important part of my whole posting. Please don't do that.

Biswo, thanks !! It must be pretty hot out there in the South? The last few days here's been pretty bad (it's a lot more better today, around 80s), and the high humidity adding to the discomfort. Wondering how DC-wallahs are coping with the heat, and ANA.

Just delighted to see that the oldies as well as the new friends are all alive and kicking...If Sparsha-ji's sighting is true, then am disappointed with Nepe for not sharing his halchal machhaune khaal ko ghazal with us FIRST. Better late than never, so look forward to reading and reciting his hit ghazal soon! I'll also request Tirtha (aka Tehrathum ko hero; Sukraat ko bhai) to post his Chat-maya on Sajha after he returns to his gaun in VA on his thotro second hand Buick that he said he bought with a credit card...i still can't imagine that this is possible, but as they say, "jahan rabi pugdainan, tyehan pugchan kabi".

sparsha, Sparsha, My Dear: Where the heck were you????? I am logging in almost after a week. I don't know who wrote what and where but yes, I was MIA. I WAS in in the middle of acction, not in sajha.com action - but in ANA! What a non-stop party it was. My throat still hurts, of course from talking too much. :) Nepe, you were at the poetry thing???? And Sparsha, you too?????? After the appearance of Ms. Dhungna (Manodyog) I just had had enough, I left. Paschim, heard your friend, "Socrates looking" (not a bad looking, though. I had read somewhre Socrates was one ugly looking philosopher!) Timilsina's 'Chat Maya.' Ejoyed it. And I have a question, maybe a curiosity - Why the hell every goddam poem was about: Mao, Desh ko Maya, Mao and pahad?????????? - Not in that order, necessarily. Phew, I was glad I did not bring my poem. I would have gotten rotten tomatoes instead of applause. It was great to meet you : Limit 3 (your bowing was a bit embarrassing, but flattering) Jira (quiet and lethal) mitra 2 (thanks again for your warm wishes), SGY, Musa, and the great football fan Def. Village Voice, my friend, Of course, I missed you!! !

Mitra2, Sparsha, Biswo, Paschim and NK, I wish I were that kabi reciting the ghazal at Mushaera-e-ANA in DC. However, it is my priviledge and honor to know him personally. We share a lot of things among which is love of poetry and pathological skepticism in almost everything. In any case I am deeply moved by your affection to me. Thank you guys. The kabi, Dr. DK, was in the convention on Thursday afternoon and Friday evening. He said he had a brief whisper conversation with Tirth Timsina. Paschim should know what Tirtha asked him about. Anyway, he says he was not happy to receive no wah-wah from the audience that day. However, Friday was his happy day. Two editors begged him for his ghazal. And he promised that ghazal to one of them. However, I have managed to get it first for Sajha kurakani. We should consider it as a pre-publication among-friends charchaa. Let's enjoy the ghazal and thank DK.
