it was full of nepalese showoff, and unreasoned egoism. A typical "bhela" of nepalese.

Oh come on Kohunu!! Give a little credit to the organizers. Sure, it was chaotic. People were running around with a glass in hands seemed like they were just about to pass out looking for some drinking water - not unlike looking for that oasis in a desert - literally.(Why was not there any drinking water if you did not want to drink from the bathroom sink?) Overall, it was quite an event. There was everything for everybody. For bridha there was mandir and prasad on Sunday; for kids there was a "kid's Camp"; for rockers there was 1947 AD and Deep Shrestha and "limit 3" (which I missed); for the lovers of "afno sanskrii" , there was a "cultural show." What more do you want? Do you even know what you want? Makes me wonder. There were all kinds of forums: Dual Citizenship; Studying in America..; The Medical Forum; Tribute to Peace Corps; and of course the kabita gosti and Samrat Upadhyaya's obligatory Jay Jayakar to name a few. As expected the cultural show extended for four hours ( I am not kidding!!) of which I watched only 2. You have seen one and you have seen it all! How often do you wanna see a dance in the tune of Chyangba hoi chyangba? Somebody commented he had seen THIRTEEN dance version of one particular song (can you believe it I forgot the song? Even I had seen 3 dance versions of that song over a 5 year period). We the people of Nepal don't know how to sit quiet for any kind of sammelan where it requires just WATCHING or LISTENING. The whole time the show was going on people were chatting!!!! What the heck is that??? Do they do the same thing when they go to a symphony or a play even it is off-off-Broadway? Or they think it is a Nepali show therefore it is OK? Whether it was a poetry recital or a book reading they got to talk, talk talk... argggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh somebody, give me a gun! The Gurung dance gave me a goose bump. So beautiful. What was that called again? As not-so-expected, there was no program shit for the audience. Maybe the organizers were afraid the audience would riot once they saw the length of the program. People already know what I saw (heard) in the “Poetry Festival.” Too bad I did not stay after Ms. Dhungana’s lil’ speech. Still, I bought her Nimbandha Sangraha out of curiosity. The first one is on Love, The Depth of Love (Maya ko Gahirahi) No, earth-shattering revelation there. I gave a glance and there is another essay on “Hamro Pahiran.” Guess what she would be saying there?? I have read only 3 essays so far and I notice she lectures quite a bit. Maybe it should be called Do’s and Don’t’s from Gruruama Dhungana J! Why do men wear shorts like it is their uniform? Dui barsha ko balak dekhi 50 barsha ko Jawan samma – kattu, kattu, kattu, and more kattu! Why????????????? I am so glad, SGY did not wear those Homeboy inspired shorts where waist hangs as low as your crotch… Gee! Thank you SGY and Def for having a little sympaythy for my sense of aesthetics J. I noticed most of the women were beautiful. Few a bit overweight (women over 30) but young women were quite an eye catcher. Paschim, you should have been here! But I take it you are not only after beauty – for you the gray matter between ears matters. That my dear, it would have been up to you to find out. Maybe next convention, if you are still single …. It would have been fun to hear other people’s experience/version/observation. Musa? Ps Nepe jiu, did you say you were there too??

I think our culture goes well with alcohol. So, where should I start? The convention was overall performed in an organized way except for some glitches. Should I say glitches for that 2 hrs delayed concert? I do not know....I met some of my long lost friends with double their original physique. Is it age or what? I could not watch kabeeta gosthee, heard it was awesome. The dances were all good but who would want to waste their most valuable drinking time by watching fourteenth version of 'Gairi khetko'. By looking at all those beautiful girls, I felt like I should have waited few more months. hehehe...:-). Little bad lock for limit3. People would have loved limit3, had he not had technical difficulties with his gears. Was nice meeting live and talking NK :-). I later saw the sajha forum meeting. Thanks to the alcoholic beverages, some people ended up dancing in 'Deep Shrestha's Keti Kamjore rahecha....'. Eventhough I did not have oppertunity to participate in Sangey of this convention in Mandir, it was quite a blast. Guys, I did not understand about 90% of 1974's lyrics, was it my hearing or what?

Like NK said, "give a little credit to the organizers". Credit is given. But overall the convention was a "NIGHT BUS" ride from kathmandu to kakarbhitta. As the bus went thru the bumps and curves and slopes, so did the people on that bus. Although the bus reached the destination there was not even a single good reason why the "driver and Management of the bus" should be given a full credit. As I said, the ride was not too nice. The organizers chose to take unorganized road rather than nice and smooth one. Some "bumps and curves" that I experienced are worthy to let known. 1. It started with the web-site. They gave the address to the conference center, but the convenient driving direction was out of site. There were many people, including me, who drove to the conference and got lost. To make the matter worst, on being asked, even the local resident were unaware of the conference center. Losing the direction is not organizers fault, but they could have made it easier. 2. Momo party was simply worst. There was no line. The Momo servers were simply surrounded by crowed. It reminded me of Pani puri stall at some theater in kathmandu. Momo was served, but the fork was missing. On being asked, some customers were advised to use their fingers by organizers. I am jealous of those who missed those momo's. 3. kabhi goshti was better last year. Like every nepali program, it started late. To save themselves from critisizm of starting the program late, the announcer blamed that the program delayed not because of the organizers but the audiance. According to them, the audiance didn't show up on time. How could they, when they had a hard time finding out the hall in such a big convention center? Kabita's were simply bad. Those kabita's inspired me of being a kabi. I thought i could write better than that even when i am stoned. 4. Cultural program. Once again there was no line. There was crowed outside each door. As usual, they sold more tickets than the capacity. People were saving seats for their family and fren's, who were still trying to make it through the door. Obviously, nobody wants to watch program with the stranger by sitting next to the stranger. Suddenly someone appeared on the stage with mic on his hand and big time rudeness and attitude on his face. He said the audiance was delaying the program by not sitting on their seats, although audiance didn't know which seat belonged to them. He also reminded the audiance of no-fault-of-organizers thing. His words were really rude. He forgot that audiance paid for the tickets. He seriously needed lesson on manners although he was some big shot on some sort of nepalese televison in washington DC. He was trying to save the ass of the organizer by blaming everything on audiance. He didn't even come up with simple apology. Insted he came up with brand new idea of rechecking the tickets, which they had to quit because of the strong critisizm from audiance. Idea of rechecking tickets would be stupid, since they never told audiance to keep hold of the ticket stubs. Culteral program was fiasco. Too many dances. Tara Gurung's Ghatto or some dance was worth watching. Rest were nothing different from any other nepali cultural program. Rajaram and saroj khanals program was worth watching. Pure Fun, a saving grace. 5. Banquet.... aaah myaaaan! I wished i missed it. I could have had nice dinner in a nice restaurant for $30 they charged to eat uncooked "PULAU", uncooked chicken, boiled carrarots and potatoes, maas ko daal and maas ko daal again (since it was in 2 containers). Maas ko daal and pullau, whatta combination (Dumbass.....!!!). Desert was some apple pie (uuuurgggh..!). I was happy for getting room in the same hotel where the convention was taken place, coz soon after that banquet, i had to go to the bathroom with my upset stomach. Khasi ko mashu saved the banquet, which was better than anything else in the banquet. 6. And came a concert. It was supposed to start at 9:00, but since it was organised at the room where banquet was taken place, they had to set up everything after the banquet was done. It took place at the same hall they had cultural program the day before. And once again, same thing happened. There was still a crowd waiting in front of each door to open. Once again, people saved the seats and once again same stupid guy who told us it was our fault to delay the show by not sitting on the seats, reminded us that the organizers should not be blamed. This time he didn't come up with idea of rechecking the tickets. Dispite the program started almost 2 hours late, the organizers didn't even come up with a word of apology. The program was interrupted for about 20 minutes before 1974 band appeared. But yet, there was not a word of apology. For a while i thought i didn't pay for the show. Organizers fell flat for inviting 1974 band and letting people sit on the seat and watch the rock concerts. There was a havoc when people ran in front of the stage and start dancing. But despite all, 1974 AD rocked, so did deep shrestha. Although some people who came there for deep shrestha felt they were cheated when they heard high voltage rock songs from 1974 AD, young people enjoyed it a lot as well as deep shresthas show, since his songs were so popular. The Program lasted till 2:30 in the morning. This was the first concert i've seen which ended without any fights and brawls. If the organisers wanna take credit for that, they can have it. Over all it was fun, so many nepalese and so many hot girls. Some bad incidents like a soccer player who broke his leg (i hope he has an insurance), and rude organizers, it was fun.

ok thank you for the long charismatic and tantalizing info about the dc convention. i think you would be nice as an anchor for some tv show, i did get the summary about the convention. now to be honest, no one gives a damn about the way the things were organized. as long as you meet people and drink and party is what ANA convnetion is all about. if you went to all the cultural shows and all those banquets than too bad for you. money totally wasted ha? what would you expect, a fine, elegant dining with aretha franklin as the host. common give a break.as long as there is booze, girls and guys, a big place to party is what all people care about in the convention. so rub your hair and shake your ass, cause you just attended a ANA convention not the Presidents convention. anyway all i care about is were there any hot guys in the convention or not?

I swear i will tell the truth and nothing BUT the truth. So, here's my analysis on the DC 2002 ANA convention: Nepalis go to ANA convetions to PARTY and SOCIALIZE. Nothing else besides good parties, cheap drinks, Humungious bars (with a dozen bartenders, open all nite) good music, dance floor, matters! Organizing forums, meetings, cultural events - is a BIG waste of time. Next year, the Nepalese Coloradians should keep in mind - for the 2003 ANA to be a big success the above is a necessity!!! rather, a MUST. Rocked or Sucked The Thursday Nite party at the "Deep" Club ROCKED! The friday nite cultural show SUCKED!! The 'kancho pulau" banquet SUCKED!!!! The 1974 and Deep Shrestha's concert ROCKED!!!!! The sporting events, including the women's Basket Ball Tournament, ROCKED!!!!!! The nepali men SUCKED! (observation based entirely on looks, clothes and physique) The nepali women ROCKED! (observation based entirely on looks, clothes and physique)

these people were definately not organized. I didn't even get to do the sound check. And most of all, very rude. I wouldn't say all of them but there were two who I really wanted to crack their skull with the guitar. Any way the good thing was that I got to meet DEF, JIRA, SANGEY, MITRA2 and especially NK.

This is how I felt about the convention. Kabita gosthi: It was OK to me. Enjoyed few but didn't like the most of them. I understand they (Poets) were not reciting poems to please me. Momo party: It was bad. Very chaotic. I had five coupens. When I got to the vendor momos were gone. I only got four plates. One had eight others have 5 or 6 bottom torn momos. Achar? nowhwere to be seen. Tyahi pani bhok lageko belama aaula ma chyapera dana dana khaiyo. Inauguration: It was sad. More people were outside than inside the hall. Looking at almost empty hall The person representing the Fairfax board of supervisors may have thought is this really the ANA convention? Association of Nepalis in the AMERICAS? Cultural program? show was good. I really liked Gurung dance by Tara gurung and her friend. I also enjoyed sali nani fakaune dance by Raj Kapoor - Binita Poudel and palpali dhaka choli dance by Dibya Regmi, something makha mali ful fule jhnai by surya chataut and chari maryo sisaiko golile by Jiwan Pandit chhetry in his third try. Dhoka bata chhirna jyan dinu parne...organizers failed to provide systematic entrance for peoplel. Children, seniors, women were all suffering in that cramped hool to get in. 1974 AD and Deep shresths Concert: I struggled to convince myself that the 1974 AD guys were singing in Nepali. Did they rock? no doubt. I think it was beer not people dancing in "jati hansu van-chhu aansu ma dub-chha jiban.." "and kati kamzor rahe chha bhagye..". I left around 1 o'clock. Couldn't bear anymore. Side ma baseki KT (don't know who she was) was all drunk and tried couple of times to throw up all over me. Then I thought...it's time to go. Registration was for sojha sajha only. For chatures it was all free. Source force nikkai chaleko thiyo. I wanted to hear limit 3, fellow sajha, but couldn't because of some technical problem. Je hos, in summary, I enjoyed the convention. Organizers deserve some credit. We must understand, fool proof party for around 2000 Nepalis is extremely difficult.

Overall, I had a good time at the convention. I missed all forums coz I was too busy partying with friends. However, I attended kabi gosti, cultural program, and the concert. Non-contestant kabis were worth listening and others were about Maobadi, ragat, desh-bhakti and all. Cultural program and concert tickets were sold out very early. As soon as the program started, the doors were left wide open, so everyone entered the hall making it over-crowded and of course, very hot. I watched soccer final that went pretty well. It was a good decision to hire those officials (referee/linesmen) who made good calls with some exceptions. We cannot blame them for bad calls coz they don't have reasons to support either teams. Hotel bar ran out of liquor for 3 consecutive days and they said that is the record :) People were smoking all over the places and the hotel corridor and halls were full of smoke. I almost had headache because of that funny smell. It was ridiculous that people enjoy smoking in front of babies and kids. And there was no way to avoid that smell because of the crowd. Denver, please don't allow people to smoke inside the building next year. It was great to see Limit 3 and NK. NK is not a stranger anymore. I was so close to meet with Sparsha, but we couldn’t communicate on time. Limit 3 you rock the way you should! I enjoyed both of your songs.

Just got home, after 10hrs drive back from DC. My back hurts. I need a massage. I am hungry, but don't feel like eating. Whine, whine, whine. Note, I am whining about the car ride home, not about ANA convention. Ok, about ANA convention, 3 words should suffice: I LOVED IT! It was bewilderingly awesome to see so many Nepalis at one place. The seminars were pretty informative. The volunteers tried their best and I appreciate that. Raktamya Pahadh documentary was heart-breaking. Tika Pun at Kabita Gosthi was magnificent in his poetry elocution, so were the poems called Chat Maya and Kura Kura Kura. I just wished I had a "sabda-kosh" with me at that time. I got only 54 in my SLC Nepali exam, so what do you expect? Party at the Shark Club was fabulous, although the girl I wanted to dance with could not get in due to some sympathetic logistical error (but I did get to rock with few gorgeous ladies). Cultural Program was also quite entertaining. Yes, that Gurung dance was quite something. Since I am not Gurung, I was inspired by the dance to "patyaunu" someone with Gurung blood. Some of the performers were my friends, which was a pleasant surprise. Concert was simply phenomenal, though probably not appropriate for all audience. Deep Shrestha and Prem Raja Mahat were exquisite. Limit 3 held their own ground, though they ran into few technical glitches in their first try. Limit 3, you and your band ROCK! What can I say about 1974AD? If you have not seen them in concert, make it a point to attend next one. Words do not suffice to describe how talented each and every member of this band is. We had the opportunity to meet them at the back-stage afterwards, and they were all genuinely nice as well. I bought their new CD, which is an amalgamation of old and new songs, and it is simply terrific. Among the new numbers, Tamang Selo and "Nepali" are outstanding, both of which were performed at the concert. I also had lots of fun at the bar. Service sucked, but who cares, I was there to meet people. I even got to buy a round of beer for my new Dharane friends. Talking about people, I got to chat with few of my Sajha friends in person after much anticipation. NK was there with her friend (whose Sajha identity she did not reveal). Fnx was there with his usual jovial self. He introduced me to Mins and Saras ( ahem, sorry ladies, about that camera incident, I was just kidding). Limit 3, nice to meet you m'man. Mak was also enjoying himself, in both drunk and sober states. I got to hang out with Musa and her friend from Philly. And no, I did not use my pick-up lines, as inquired in a different thread, but I did get to use Joey-style "how ya doin'?" :-)

Sraddha... you got me all wrong. I am talking "AGRA ko kura" and you are talking "GAGRA". May be you didn't give a BIG DAMN about how the things were organised because you didn't attend 'em all. Of course I didn't expect neither Aretha Franklin nor Deep Shrestha as my Host. But, I didn't expect kancho pulau and kukhura. You see I paid for it and I am not the one who gives a damn about the money i waste on worthless things. I didn't even expect it to be elegant coz I was not even wearing any formal clothes. YES, that good looking guy on jeans was me. :) If you insist I'd give it a break. How much I had fun in the convention is entirely different subject. I didn't wanna make my already-long message longer than nile. I had good time hanging around at "shark Club". Yes, i was boozed and I danced like crazy enough to scare girls off my 3 feet radius, but had fun. GUYS...DO YOU REMEMBER THE TOILET IN SHARK RESTAURANT? REMEMBER SOMEONE THREW UP IN THE COMODE? no, that wasnt me. I enjoyed every minute there so I don't really need to PISS and MOAN about anything. About the hot guys, I don't really care about them, but the convention was full of hot girls, especially teenagers. I can see really bright future for those nepalese guys who are still not eligible to buy liquor. I missed people who are regular visitors of this forum. Id really love to meet you guys. Had I known, i would have come up with my form of introduction. Lets get together in next convention. I would really love to meet the people I talk to.

Things I liked: 1. Meeting people 2. Deep Shrestha, Prem Raja Mahat, 1974AD, Limit3 concert 3. Sports management 4. Shark Club outing 5. Mariott hotel/location 6. Enthusiasm of girls baketball teams 7. Fairness of refrees in sports Things I did not like: 1. Cultural program: monotoneous, loooong, disorgannized 2. Chaotic environment 3. Half tickets for cultural program resold for $2 4. Used concert ticket given out for free 5. No ticketcheckers after first 10 minutes (both in cultural program and concert) 6. Disorganized crowd control in concert 7. Lack of dance music or environment in cultural program 8. Lack of information center 9. Lack of girls' basketball teams Overall, it was a job well done by the organizing team as it is a huge effort to put such a huge event together. It is not a joke to control the crowd of over 3000-4000 (not official). However, there were a lot of opportunities for improvement, which is not unusual in event of this size.

This friend and I were sitting at the bar. Me drinking gin and tonic and she some sort of beer. This toothy guy comes up and strikes up a conversation. Everything is cool. Everything is fine, and then ,he says ever so slyly that he is alone and has a room "all for himself." He looks at us expectantly. Immediately I whip up my purse and get the picture out and show him "my lovely daughter and my handsome husband." He now turns his attention to my friend and asks her if she wants to shake me off (coz I may not be in able to drive) and go with him! He was just a good samatarian dying to help some stranded nymph. We left the bar before he could come up with antoher pick up line. My poor half finished drink! And yes,of course he was wearing this big Kattu! And had a big shirt on too. Still, his pot belly was peeking, shamelessly :).

The convention was much better than what I had initially imagined it to be. I even cancelled my trip to Ocean city. I must say, I had a blast. I met some the sajha-ites like NK, U2, sgy, def, mins, and saras (i still don't know her real name). And mins did not kick my ass (I had been a regular visitor in the gym for last 2 months in case I had to run). Meeting NK made the whole trip worth it...:). Too bad that Suna was out of town. Suna, let me know if you are in my neigborhood. Even though I heard a lot of bitching about the cultural program, I enjoyed it. Maybe it was due to the good looking guy sitting next to me. Of course the concert was one of the best event in the whole convention. But, I still did not understand why some parents decide to bring their 6 months old babies in the rock concert. Fortunately for the babies, most of them left after the first few songs. The dance light was not only flashing on the dance floor but also on the seatings. I had to request the light coordinator twice before I turned blind in 1974AD's concert. In spite of Limit3's bad start, they did a great job. I even had a chance to meet them (I don't think they remember me....they just remember sgy, NK and def). Almost forgot to mention - it was strange to see the advertisements in between the dances/songs in the live cultural program. Poetry contest was an interesting one. Timalsina's (Pashim's friend, i beleive) "chatmaya" was a big hit among the crowd even though it did not get the first prize. Along with the poets, the babies in the auditorium also recited their screams. I was bedazzled to see a child running around in the hall and the parents were nowhere to be seen. 6 bucks for 6 smashed momos was pretty expensive. I could not eat more than 4, and i had momo burp for rest of the night. The velocity for the momo line was 1feet/5 mins. Of course, a typical "thaun rokne" habit. Film festival - it was supposed to begin at 11:30, but no appropriate equipments were in the hall even after an hour the scheduled time. I think it finally started at 1:15. Forum for "dual residency" was informative. It was dissapointing to see only 15 members in the hall. A dissapointing feature - while the forum was in session, people peeked in and let the door stay open for a few minutes. And it was almost impossible to hear the discussion going on. When would people learn curtsey? There were a lot of glitches in the organization part that needed to be filled. Nevertheless, it was a great convention. Almost every event was sold out. Hope the Denver one is as good as this one if not better.

July 4th thursday.................. Registration momo party and poetry recital............fine! shark club night was awesome. I liked the idea behind it and the actual party. Dc youth seems to know what to do and when. I know for old ANA members for last 20-30 years it was very unappropriate and rude to focus on all the aspect and age group of the convention attendee but........i think we've come a long way from a little ANA convention in Lancaster, PA.All the past presidents and members should realize that as their idea behind ANA still stays the same but caters to the whole Nepali family. Old heads should realize the progression and advancement of their idea, which is now being written up in the washington post and Fairfax county 'Nepal Day' starts this year. As we still seem to overlook the new ideas, help, enthusiam of Nepali youth and stick to our ' chali halcha ni', ' hami older manche haru lai badhi taha cha', ' yi young keta haru lai ke thaha cha ra?' mind set fueled by political motivations,socio-status and name recognition ghamada, the organizers pulled it off very nicely this year. I guess trying to live upto the Atlanta convention is hard. Besides above mentioned 'glitches' the overall convention was great. I still feel the lack of helping the Nepali cultural center and Mandir but hopefully it doesn't become one of them ' 10 barsha yojan' that never finalises. There should have been something to promote the Mandir and getting people's attention to donate and help the cause. Yes we had the 'Making our mark' award ceromony, which is fine but are making mark people helping the cultural center and mandir in anyway? Are they doing anything to preserve our culture? or it should have been 'most capitalist self serving nepali immigrant' award then the nominees make sense. Kiran chetri? what did she do to Nepali community? and she's not even Nepali, she'sanamerican with a Nepali father. Are we going to pull the Tger wood situation or what? blacks, asian, polynasian all claiming to make him to be one of them, but if you don't have enought of 'em , you have to get whatever you can bring i guess. forums were very nice, as a matter of fact very informative and helpful. i was surprisingly happy to see a large audience for 'Women trafficking' forum. Good to see some Nepali youths are concerned. That for me is a big achievement. Sports events were very well organised. Cheers to the organizers. But as always dc brought the best tem for every game, and i noticed it wasn't just homefield advantage. They were good. CONGRATULATIONS. Cultural program was fair, except for the black market ticket going around like 'ranjana cinema' hall. Banquet! GOD! what a shame! Uncooked pulao, raw chicken and overall food was so bad it made the chinese takeout looked like gourmet food. Live concert, sound wasn't mixed right, couldn't hear anything beside the guitars. Call me old fashioned but live bands should really focus on culturally motivated groups or individuals, like deep shrestha ( minus the rock aspect), or as a matter of fact someone like Kumar basnyat and mahat. That to me is nepali. the organisers never realized or their lack of knowlede about rock concert, they can't be enjoyed seated, you have to dance and you have to stand up to dance right? Narayan Gopal, i wish he was still alive can be enjoyed sitting down. But as i wasn't very thrilled to have a rock band play at the convention, i attended anyway and was very dissapointed. Overall there were lotsa positive aspect of the convention and i was delighted that one of our Nepali youth Simon was among the organizers. His name wasn't mentioned anywhere and i don't think he got all the credit but then he was just a nepali yuwa ' making his mark' unselfishly. That's what we need to do ( colorado listen up), let the new idea flow, let the youth takeover and move it to the 21st century. If we still cling on to our old ideas you don't get anywhere no would you let us go anywhere. As a nepali youth let us help, let us take care of it now. It's not a lack of expertise but lack of opportunity that's keeping all the new ideas and visions of US ( Nepali yuwa) supressed. Thank you to all the Dc natives for all needed airport rides, dinner, sightseeing and the free shuttle to and from the hotel to The Shark club. Cheers! until next year!

Lol, same old Ashu I know from our good ole' Senior Cambridge days - shrewd observer with a cloak of nonchalance. Your "ahem, no comment" while not demanding any explanation, does manage to tickle my senses with a loud question of "what the heck are you up to." Well, all in due time, my friend. Couple of people asked me what do I mean by "sympathetic logistical error." Well, what I meant to say was, this lovely lady's gentleman friend forgot to bring his ID, hence could not enter the club. And this lovely lady, being as much lovely and as much lady-like, precluded herself from the party as well in sympathy with her friend, which was my loss at that moment. NK, thank you for your positive comment on my get-up. But how about if I see you next time in Boston with Red Sox cap tilted to the side of my head, cargo shorts barely hanging on my hip showing my Allen Solly boxers and over-sized Celtics BB jersey. Then we'll find out if you still like me in the real Slim Shady avatar.

Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew! Finally I am home. After nearly passing out due to the heat and excitement of seeing people like NK, SGY, LIMIT 3, MUSA, MAKA, MINS, SARAS, I am glad that I made it home in one piece though my ankle is still sore and swollen due to the twist. One piece because it was sad to see a fellow footballer break his leg in the tourney when he needs to earn to survive for next school year and now he has to worry about paying his medical bills since he does not have a health insurance. Kudos to DC footballers, who were trying to raise funds to help him after the concert. I wasn’t able to participate in any of the forums due to my commitment for something else (NO, it wasn’t girls.). I really wanted to attend ‘kabi gosthi’, and the forum (forum for Nepal???) in which Daniel Lak was one of the contributor. However I was able to attend cultural show and the concert. Cultural show was too much of a same thing for me and too long. I probably was there for 30 mins or so and in and out after that. Concert was good, not great due to the sound quality. LIMIT 3, YOU ROCK BRO!!! Whats up with nepali and microphone? A couple of MCs were romantically involved with microphone, I think. They couldn’t just let it go. Thanks DC for wonderful memories and friends which I hope will last for a life time.

Aaago ma polera nekaleko log jasto??? hahahaha.. that was funny.. If that is so, then don't you think i should look as black as coal? But to your kind information, I have olive complexion. A face in the crowed. But i don't blame you. You know after one sights bunch of uncool-not-so-goodlooking-guys, she obviously has bad impression about all the guys, even the guys are hot like me.. ;) That happend to me. After i saw lot of good looking girls in convention, My mind was totally manipulated by my vision. I saw all the gals good looking _ Even though she looked like "kaal ratri ko duck":

Tina, how old are you, again? You are opening your mouth like a newborn bhangeri. Did you talk to each and every guy and found out if they were really smart or not? What is this bullshit going on? Just shut your mouth and go eat some bugs. Your mama bhangeri is bringing some earthworms. Just gulp it down and keep quiet! Tweet Tweet Can you write anything else about "hot" guys and "hot" girls? What is your score in English writing class? barely C-? Oh, wait a minute. I forgot you were nothing but a newborn bhangeri. How many bugs have you eaten so far?

The whole concert was great. The guy who started the concert did a fab job. He knew how to get the crowd. I think he was from 72ndstreet band right? Great job man. Limit3 proved that they deserve to be there. 1974A.D. rocked the Fans. Concerto

Miss Tina, If you were so keen of replying *only* to Freek, you should have emailed him personally rather than posting on the bulletin board. It is a thread, and everyone is going to read and reply. To MG- someone is in a pissy mood...hehe

greed. Choosing the site for a convention is nearly as important as chosing the right wife, the right university, the right course of study, the right job. Success depends on the choices made. Maybe I am stretching a point here but what qualifications did this hotel have that made it a good match for the needs of the planners and attendees. I propose that it had NOTHING to offer except that it must have been cheap to rent. The management and workers of the hotel did little to make their guests feel welcome. A pretty face does not always make a good wife. A large student union does not make a great university. A chosen course of study does not necessarily provide one with the skill necessary to get a good job, and a good job does not mean that you are not working for years for a company like Enron. I propose that the Marriott Westfields hotel had an attractive looking lobby and that is all it had. Rather than the star of the Marriott chain, Westfields Marriott Convention Center, a circus tent on the lawn of a public park would have been a better place for the convention.
