hello people,
the venue has been selected for ANA convention 2003. with much pride and pleasure we the nepalese at Denver would like to invite you and are really looking forward to this coming convention at Denver, CO. please send me your suggestions on how and what kind of convention you guys would like to see e.g dance parties, re-unions, musical shows etc etc. this year's convention was a success, so get ready for the other one. as i been given the oppurtunity to organize the dance party for 2003 convention, send me your suggestions on what you want to see. Denver is way cheaper than the Dc area so spread the word around, and get ready for ANA convention 2003 bonanza.

Jasmine,
Congrats for getting this opportunity to host 2003 ANA convention in Denver, Colorado. As you know, ANA 2002 was a huge success, especially in sports. Altogether there were 11 teams in soccer, 8 teams in Men's basketball and 2 teams in women basketball. Everything in sports was well organized ( No doubt about it !!!!). We all soccer fans expect the same thing from Denver organizing committee too. Good luck and keep us posted regarding sports.......

what we expect from you guys ?
1) Fair play and judgement
2) Professional Refrees
3) Good Soccer field

Thanks,
Soccer fan 2003

Definitely soccer field must be a good one. No bumps, soft ground and good goalposts.

In case of more than 12 teams, I suggest regional QUALIFICATION league. The less teams in convention, the better to organize and this is also good for the players.

How about three winners in regional competitions like this..............
1. West
2. Midwest
3. East

The host region gets to take runner up to the championship

Total of 4 teams in the finals.
SUGGESTIONS Posted on 13-Jul-02 09:38 AM

Jasmine, here are few of my suggestions as you asked for them..

1) We need dance parties, i don't think we had any this year aside from the shark club,
and they should be held at the same location where the convention is being held so we don't need to take turns being a designated DRINKER.

2) AND please make the cultural program short and there's no need to repeat the same dance number numerous times, and please start the program promptly at the designated time, I guess not having the cultural program at the same site as the dinner reception would help a lot on this issue. (you know what i mean right, because this year they had to wait for all the dinner tables to be removed and rearrange the chairs etc etc and that took up all the time while people started to get impatient)

3)And you should DEFINITELY come up with a system that will include everything with the registration fee (e.g. dinner, cultural program etc) because there were so many people who did not spend a dime for any of those shows and it's unfair to others who spend so much money on every single program, and the fact that you charge extra for cultural shows etc is not fair 'cause after about 5 to 10 minutes people start to leave (because it's so long and boring) and they get nothing out of their money and people who never paid can get in and out so easily.
And also did you know that I HEARD THAT PEOPLE WERE RUNNING TO KINKOS TO MAKE PHOTO COPIES OF THE TICKETS? I JUST COULDNT' BELIEVE IT WHEN I HEARD THIS, BECASUE THERE WERE BUNCH OF PEOPLE ABOUT 3O IN A GROUP WHO HAD NO TICKETS TO THE CONCERT AND ON THE DAY OF THE CONCERT ALL OF THEM WERE SITTING TOGETHER IN A FRONT ROW AHEAD OF ME AND I WONERED HOW THEY GOT THE TICKET AND MUCH LATER THEY LET ME IN ON THEIR SECRETS.

Now this is really F....D UP! SO NEXT YEAR PLEASE COME UP WITH SOMETHING BETTER THAN THIS SO EVERYONE WILL PAY AND GET THE MOST OUT OF THEIR MONEY, THERE SHOULD BE AN INDICATION THAT THE PEOPLE DID PAY.

i KNOW, I KNOW SOME PEOPLE ARE GOING TO WHINE ABOUT BEING BROKE ETC ETC BUT BELIEVE ME I'M A STUDENT AS WELL AND I UNDERSTAND THE DILEMMA BUT THERE'S GOT TO BE SOME SORT OF CONCENSUS SO SOME PEOPLE WON'T FEEL CHEATED.

I'LL WRITE MORE ON THIS SUBJECT LATER.
BUT PLEASE WE NEED MORE DANCE PARTIES, PRICE NEED TO BE REASONABLE, SHORTER PROGRAMS, MORE THINGS FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO GREW UP IN THIS COUNTRY AND ARE LOOKING FOR NEPLESE COUNTERPARTS ( I THINK THEY HAD SOME SORT OF SOCIAL EVENT SET ASIDE TO LET YOUNG KIDS INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER, SOME SORT OF FORUM, I BELEIVE AND I DON'T MEAN THE "TEEN FORUM")

WELL, HOPE YOU WILL LOOK INTO MY SUGGESTIONS AND TRY TO IMPLEMENT SOME OF THEM FOR THE YEAR 2003, GOSH SUCH A LONG WAY TO GO.
BUT, OH WELL.

Possible locations for the ANA convention in Colorado are: in the mountains or in or around the city. There are certainly many pros and cons. City means closer proximities to the places around town, shorter commute etc while 3-4 summer days in the heart of the Rockies provides unique Colorado experience. Ofcourse this means longer commute to and from the city, limited choices for the nocturnals . The location will be decide in next few weeks and you all can help us in the process. Your feedback will be appreciated.

Boulder - which is roughly half hour drive from Denver, would be an ideal location. It will surely make you homesick though :) Mountains everywhere.... lovely place.

sprry tina,
lots of parties we can handle that , but keep the bar openaand running till the morning, out of the question. this is not any bhatti that we are talking about. get acquainted with the law
Tina Posted on 15-Jul-02 11:37 AM

Didn't you hear I said BAR and you have BHATTI in your mind? What's wrong in having the bar open till 2-3 rather than 12? Don't you know Nepalese drink drink and drink..!!!
