DANIDA/GTZ Revenue Administration Support will host a high level training on software project management and software system analysis and design in September/October 2002. The training is targeted at software developers with some experience who want to upgrade their management and analytical skills. The training is conducted jointly by Mr David Brown from the UK and myself. Contents: A) Capability Maturity Management (CMM) Date and duration: 24 September, half day introduction CMM is a quality framework specifically for the software industry. It consists of 5 quality maturity levels and companies can be certified. Certification significantly enhances a companies rating when bidding for software development contracts, especially in off-shore development. B) Projects IN Controlled Environments (PRINCE) Date and duration: 25-27 September, 3 days PRINCE project management method has been developed in the UK and is widely used in the anglo-saxon world, especially in IT related projects. C) Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology (SSADM) Date and duration: 30 September - 04 October, 5 days SSADM has also been developed in the Uk and is widely used. It covers the whole software development life cycle from feasability study to physical design. It is compulsory in most UK government related projects. SSADM tightly integrates with PRINCE. Number of participants: 12 Venue: to be announced Fees: NPR 30,000. Fees include comprehensive/high-quality training material, lunch, coffee/tea.
