Whenever I go to a Nepali page at a different site, its likely that I have to install a new font.
Some of the ones I have encountered are Gorkhapatra font, Preeti font, Sagarmatha font, Grokhali font, etc. What are actually the differences between these fonts? Is it merely for a copyright and royalty issue that new sites are using their own fonts? Is there any project going on to make a common font for all Nepali pages? Or am I missing something about the understanding of fonts? I know , in English, there are fonts like Arial, Times New Roman which do look different in appearance in pages using those fonts. But I don't see much difference in appearance of the fonts like Kantipur, Gorkhali, Preeti, etc .
