I am quite ashamed to say that I haven't read the single most literary masterpiece by MahaKabhi Devkota, Muna Madan. Anyways, is the song by N Gopal, 'Iswor taile rachera malai...', actually a prose/verse from Muna Madan? Even if isn't, that song has to be one of the most beautiful songs by N Gopal. What are your favourite N Gopal songs?

yes, the lines are directly from muna madan. actually, there is another song by narayan gopal that comes from muna madan. song goes something like this ....ki mari chadyo ki gari chadyo marda ko iradha nahala pyari bida ma mero anshu ko tyo bada anara dana daata ka lahar kholera hansana timile hanse ma hakna sakchu indra ko asana pyari bida ma hansana.. well, there are many songs of narayan gopal that i like. these days i seem to enjoy "duita fula deuralima" the most. among others pokhiyera gham ko jhulka kehi mitho baata gara(want 1974 ad to do the remix of this. have told me they will consider it.) sawan ko jhari bani mero pyaro okhaldunga yeti chokho yeti mitho and many many more mero pyaro okhaldunga is sort of hard to understand. although i do understand the overall theme of the song, i do not know the meaning of many words. can someone translate siddicharan shrestha's "mero pyaro okhaldunga" into a more easily understandable nepali words? though i must say, sounds great the way it is now. Siddhicharan Shrestha should have published some sort of collection of his poems. You might be able to obtain the lyrics from there. BTW, the song you mentioned, ''duita fula deuralima', where would I be able to get it online. I dont think its at www.nepalisong.net. since you mentioned 1974 AD, I would really wish them to do Malai nasodha, Priyesi ka yaad haru and obviously iswora taile. But the flaw in my opinion, if any, would be on the vocals because they dont have singers who could get as deep in vocal as N Gopal. Hey how about this, Ram Krishna Dhakal gives the vocals and they arrange the music. Sounds like a blockbuster to me.

hello ?, i don't think "duita fula deuralima" is anywhere on the web. the best bet would be to ask janaki panta, the lady who runs nepalisong.net to make it available online. i have it but its on tape. the reason i said i wanted to hear "kai mitho bata gara" remixed by 1974 ad is beacuse that song has beats that could be well emulated by AD. if i am not mistaken, they have guitar and drum in that song. i think 1974 ad CAN sing Malai nasodha, Priyesi ka yaad haru and iswora taile, i think nirakar yakthumba could sing that song. although ram krishan dhakal(no relation) is good, i don't appriciate him as much as AD. i mean AD not only sing they make their own music. dhakal just sings. i liked his first two album. he also sings for movies and most of the new nepali movie songs are not worth listening. i think dhakal shuold just concentrate on coming up with his own albums insted of singing for movies. but i guess its easy for me to say that. he needs to make a living too i suppose. like u have mentioned, the combination of dhakal and AD would be excellent. like deep shrestha and AD right now. nepathya is good too. have u heard their resham album? i think they should invite nepathya for the next ANA convention. Anything to keep the show going man!!! Narayan Gopal, we will miss him, nonetheless the show must go on. I am still wondering why people haven't experimented with his songs like they did with arun thapa, yonjan and others. I think, the only song redone by a different artist was 'malai maaf garideu' and that, i didn't particularly enjoy. Ram K Dhakal is an enormously gifted singer but the problem he faces (and the same is true for other famous singers ) is that some people tend to think that he's over-rated. This would be fastidious on the part of people who feel so because he does deserve the due credit. The dude has a story, a sad and a moving one and we've got to remember greatness does come out of people like these who have been thru hardships. Hopefully, He is the second coming of N Gopal, afterall. Coming back, the other candidate I chose for vocals would be Yam Baral.
