Dear Friend, Namaskaar:

Spring has officially begun here in Minnesota. Believe it or not, the
snow has started to melt exposing the brown lawns beneath it. The
Mother Nature is preparing the Twin Cities for the ANMA 2001 Convention.
By the time the convention guests arrive, the Mother Nature will have
everything ready. Spring will be in full bloom. The lawns will be
green and lush and the flowers will be budding and seem to be saying
'Just Look, Don’t Pick'. Yes, it’s coming. Mother Nature is doing
great.

The Nepali Minnesotans are also working hard, assisting Mother Nature
in planning for the ANMA 2001 events. We have a wonderful weekend
planned for you. The weekend will begin with the 'ANMA Invitational
Soccer Tournament'. Soccer matches will be played all afternoon. They
will be followed (between 5:30 and 7:00) by a fabulous Nepali style
dinner. Get ready to feel a little homesick. The dinner will proceed by
social hour, possibly a movie, or a chance to go on the town and
enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the Twin Cities. Find out what the
'Minnesota Nice' is all about.

Sunday morning will begin with the Final for the 'ANMA Invitational
Soccer Tournament'. The guests will begin arriving at the Doubletree
hotel at 7:30. Breakfast is NOT being provided at the convention.

The program will begin promptly at 8:20. We have a host of
interesting programs for people of all ages. There are a variety of kids
programs, ranging from story telling to painting to playing games. The
youth programs are also being stressed with the 'Youth Forum on Cultural
Anatomy of Nepal' and the 'Employment and Immigration' workshop. The
series entitled 'Bringing people and resources together for Nepal'
will focus on variety of activities from different nonprofit groups and
individuals who have committed their time and resources to help
Nepal. We will also present an overview of Nepal and Nepali for everyone
to refresh our minds and reacquaint ourselves with what it feels like
to be in our beloved homeland.

We do still have a couple of slots open if anyone wants to present or
talk about some Nepal related cultural issues.

After lunch at 12:00, there will be various activities for people to
take part in. There will be a boat ride on the Mississippi ($12.00
per person), a bus tour of the Twin Cities, and of course a trek to the
Mall of America, the biggest mall in the world (the mall is located
about 3 blocks from the hotel).

The dinner will be served around 5:30 PM and the Cultural Program
will begin at 7:00 PM sharp. We have a fantastic entertainment show
prepared for you. Filled with Neapli dances, songs, comedy, and a few
other surprises, the entertainment show will surely bring memories of
Nepal. It will be an entertainment show to be remembered.

I also want to invite the Nepali businesses in North America to take
part in this convention. You can showcase your businesses at $200.00
per table.

Please visit http://www.chautari.com for the official web site of the
ANMA 2001 Minnesota Convention. Also, I cannot emphasize enough the
need to register in advance. If we do sell out the Doubletree hotel
will not allow anymore than 550 people. So, please either go to the
Convention web site and follow the link or go directly to
http://www.dhukuti.com to register.

If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at

Sincerely,
ANMA 2001 Convention Planning Committee
