Dear Visitors,
We have seen an increase in viewership since the ANA convention. With this increase we have seen an increase in postings that are not intellectually stimulating, derogatory or demeaning - for example a posting consisting of "What the ..ck!!!!" or simply things that doesn't make any sense.

In addition, we have seen an increasing number of postings that consist of racist, sexist and biased religious comments. These postings are definitely not helping sajha.com to bring together Nepali communities. On the other hand, sajha.com is providing a meeting ground for people with different kinds of mindsets.

In the past too, we have seen numerous spikes in such behaviours, with similar discussions going back and forth between the visitors themselves and myself at various times. Each time, we have seen that the equilibrium state gets maintained on it's own. We even tried the ability of visitors to choose to see only the registered posts or all posts but only to remove that feature after a little while. In the end, the will of the regular - informative - intellectual posters have prevailed. The spikes of negative postings have always subsided with time.

With this in mind, I urge you all to wait out this inflow of new visitors. With the arrival of new visitors I am confident that the quality of sajha.com discussions will grow in time as the flow of negative energy subsides.

Sajha.com has evolved through experimentations in building a web community. We are always open to discovering new ideas that will help promote a better cyber community. If the waiting out period does not give positive results, we will take steps to promote a more respectful and tolerant community.

"Democracy does not mean you can go out in the street and start shooting down people (or their faith/nationality). Similarly in this site, you cannot go and badmouth other posters (or their faith/nationality). In a democracy, you have to respect other's right to live a safe and healthy life. Here also, you will have to respect other's right to not be personally attacked by derogatories."

Lastly, I welcome all the new visitors and request that everyone show discretion and respect in their postings.

Let's help promote Peace, Love & Harmony among us all.

Best Regards,
San Pradhan
