"Feet of Clay - Saints, Sinners, and Madmen: A Study of Gurus" by Anthony Storr iis one good book on modern days GURUS. Well known but controversial personalities like Sigmund Freud, Gurdjeiff, Rajaneesh, Gustav Jung have been dealt with very finer details.
Although those who blindly subscribe to the ideas of these so called gurus may feel uncomfortable with what the writer has to say, its a book worth reading!
