The following picture appeared on the frontpage of Kathmandu Post with the following caption: The Narayanhiti Royal Palace had to use fire brigade to clear the water log on Wednesday.

Is this an example of "Not in my backyard" mentality?

YOU ARE RIGHT BRO.
Riva Posted on 25-Jul-02 02:52 PM

What kind of people live there??? They have no sense of responsibility.
Pakhey is the word I have for people who live in that rajdarbar.
Analyze Posted on 25-Jul-02 03:14 PM

Guys, don’t blame the people who live there. It’s the people who work there. I don’t think people who live there has to do that kind of job. Try to analyze before blaming others. We don’t take time to blame others…that is the reason our country goes to crisis with a small rumor
viewfinder Posted on 25-Jul-02 04:52 PM

hey PPL

DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING....
IN NEPAL IT'S LIKE YOU KNOW " JAS KO SHAKTI USAIKO BHAKTI ".

regret to see such kinda nasty pic living home away from home.
Riva Posted on 25-Jul-02 05:37 PM

Analyze ji,
that does not mean they get to do whatever they want. Maybe the civilized people who live there should tell their uneducated servants not to throw the water in the streets where 1000s of people commute.
I THINK THOSE SO CALLED ROYALTIES SHOULD TRY TO BE AN EXAMPLE TO THE SOCIETY.
psychodreamer Posted on 25-Jul-02 08:31 PM

exactly....
biruwa Posted on 25-Jul-02 10:20 PM

f it is bother for you, You must think very seriously and do correct action for society and country.......... be a good example ...... Just do it ....... Don't use thoes money for you living that you parents earned from corruption in Nepal.

Do social work? Show us a good example....... show us a good path....... for our future

Biswo Posted on 26-Jul-02 12:23 PM

This is shame.

More than that, it just shows how inconsiderate our royal palace can be to others.
And no, don't blame the royal palace karmachari, blame the heads there. If a
karmachari is to be blamed, did anyone take any action against that karmachaari
and made it public?

Never blame the juniors when seniors are equally wrong.
Analyze Posted on 26-Jul-02 01:15 PM

I still think karmachari are the one to be liable. Uneducated karmachari is not an excuse to do such a stupid thing. You are not making the policy for the country. You don’t need to graduate to evaluate whether it is fine to throw water in the public street. We always blame the one above us and don’t try to do our job correctly. In every government offices this is the problem. Do what you are hire for. If you are hire to get rid of water, then do it the right way.
p Posted on 26-Jul-02 01:57 PM

Some action should be taken against the culprit.
Unless some action is taken everybody will blame everybody.
proper investigation should pin-point the responsibility and take action!
tango1 Posted on 26-Jul-02 03:05 PM

Listen to this....Our so called "Beloved ultra nationalist late King Mahendra" built the royal palace with government money and and sold it to the government. How ludicrous could it be...Its simply unbeliviable. Poor Nepali Folks have always been made fools by these morons..I am not a bit surprised with that picture.
Kya ho Posted on 26-Jul-02 07:56 PM

Seriously, this is just ridiculous! I am pretty supportive of the monarchy, but I am shocked at the disregard this shows to the people.

Even if this was the misdeed of the workers, they should issue a statement later apologizing for this disrespect to the people.

Certainly not a fit action for the royalty!
