Hi Guys
I was just trying to remember some old songs (used to air in Radio Nepal when i was growing up). I am listing some of my favourites....and i do have lots of them but just trying to minimize them... and some I have been hmming all day...

My favorite is "Sabaile Dine Ustai Huncha Maya, Tara Ma Naulo Preeta Dinchu..." . I couldn't find it anywhere in the internet, do you have this one in your collection?
"Bhandina ma timilai tipera aakash ko joon dinchu" and "bhandina ma timilai jindagi bhari nai saath dinchu" are my favorite lines.

I know that song I guess its from Tara Thapa, I do love the song but unfortunately I don't have the song :(

1. Timro tyo Hasilo Muharko
2. Pratikshya gara
3. Upekshya ko lahar ma
4. Ti akha haru bhitra ko, ujyalo man parchha
5 Timro har prashna ko jawaf, mero chitthi
6. Kati anautho chha, manis ko jindagi.
You actually can buy a CD compiled with these songs.
My other favorites are:

Back home in Kathmandu I rarelyused to listen to Nepali songs! I still remember my mummy used to get hooked up with radio Nepal listening to all the songs that I NOW like so much.
Told that to mummy and she goes on to say '' Well it's just a matter of time'' ; ''when you become mature you tend to like your own culture, your own people everything you didn't used to like before'' I FOUND IT QUITE TRUE WHAT SHE SAID.
My room despite being located at a busy London street; once I enter it, feels like living in my own home back at Kantipathl with all the Nepali songs i play, the food & no doubt about the decorations. So homely atmosphere.
Thought about marrying an English girl whom I fancied but thought about what my mummy told me ''when you become wise/mature/ old ; you tend to like your own people, own culture, everything you didn't used to like back home in Kathamandu''

ur collection is brilliant, those songs are in my favorite list. BUT one querry,, isnt Bhakta Raj misin from there. I find Bhaktaraj one of the brilliant singers of nepal,, Mutu jali rahecha,, used to be my baba's favourite,,, When i am in senti mood and find things falling sort of expectations,, i hear his song "Hajar sapana haruko maya lagera aunchaa,, bachane rahar jastooo pheri bhayera aunchaa" . Guess his songs have become part of my life.
there is one great song,, guess it was by one very old singer (hopefully Mr. Rimal),, FAGAT EK NAJAR MA KASAILE MERO MAAN,,,(in this song the music is so natural and melodous)..
Maiti ghar timroo hoina parayi ghaar jau,, bida lii kahile kahi janma ghar auu,, is also great. Guess it was by Dwarikalal Joshi.
gulam ali sang great songs,, some to say are ,, Lalayeka ti thulaa timraa dui najar lee (tho a gazal).
premdhoj sang,, Timilai acheel kaha dekhuum,, Para laijau phool haruu.
Apologies that i did not include Narayan Gopal,, tho his songs are great.
Ani eutaa dukha koo kura,, i like BhaktaRaj too much,,seems songs of bhakta raj are present somewhere in my blood,,, tara mero Bhaktaraj ko chakka nai harayoo,, kya boooooorrrrrrrr,,,
i like resham phiriri also (tho its a look geet, i guess)
Ani Nep girl,, pls listen Bhaktaraj Acharyaa ko songs hai,, they r really good and heart touching.
i wish i culd spend hours remembering my favourites and jotting here,, tara ke garnee, sutnee bela bhayoo,, gud nite.

Hey guys:
Couple of friends and I are coming out with a fresh and hot hip hop CD in Nepali. Perhpaps one of the first original Nepali hip hop CD. I mean sung in Nepali, with Nepali tracks, hip hop beats and maybe a few numbers that may be dance/club type. One of my friend might spit some rhymes in English/Spanish, but other than that mostly Nepali. What say you, friends? Thinking about releasing it in the US first, and then in HongKong and also in Nepal eventually. The work is still in progress, but it is going to be good. My friend, DJ Bean1 has been making beats for the aspiring rappers in the Seattle area for a long time.
I will convert some of the finished songs into wave or mp3 format and post it in http://www.nepalisongs.com
btw, check out "titepati jhap 2000" @ http://www.nepalisongs.com for the underground version of a song I did with Bean1 back in 2000. This time, however, it is going to be professional and excellent.
Do you guys think young neps will buy the CD for $10.00?

I did say I have a lotssssssssssssssss of (oldies) favourites.. Those 15 were the songs which came into my mind that time. I do listen to Bhakta Raj Acharya matter of fact he used to be my music teacher (in 1st Grade)... and his Hazaar aankha herney meri maayalu lai is my fav as well and another one mailey kaa.da haru sangai khelna man parayein, baahaar kahiley aayena pathzard mai ma ramaayein... I do have a lotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt of favs favs but i can't post 'em all no?

U seem to be a big music gyata (seems took lessons also) and i was desperately looking for someone who knew lots of nep music. Guess u know more about Bhakta raj dai.
I knew that Bhakta raj had big tragedy with his health. How is he doing (or he is no more wth us,, may god bless him). i have asked this with some of my nep friends bt no one could be sure of the answer. Could u help???.. had heard his son also sings,, but guess some pop songs.. hijo aja ko mitra kalakar haruma Bhaktaraj dai ko jastoo gala (throat) ke hola raa.. still hope his son could take over his image.
in one of my journeys,, i met a nep woman,, and she seemed to have big knowledge of nep music. She admired Bhaktaraj saying "Nepal ma sangit ko ashaal gyaan bhayeko kohi cha taa tyoo Bhaktaraj hoo" (what expression culd be greater admiration than that)). She referred me to hear a song something like "Bhagya rekha ma pahiro kina janchaa har ghaadi" (m afraid that i might have forgot the lyrics) but i never found that song anywhere to listen. did bhakta raj sing such song,, or how could i find it..i wish to hear it,, if he sang it or so.

Guys we need change all nepali old and new songs( music vedios) convert into MP3 format and post it Kazza so we all can download and share to all nepali. There is not even one single song of nepali we can find in kazaa. There are thousand of Hindi songs why not Nepali as well....

Thank you for your kind words :) Yes I do keep a lot of knowledge about Nepali music. I think Bhakta Raj sir is doing better.He is among us and can't talk much. He had a serious serious problem with his health before. He had undergone surgery jasma whan ko tongue ali kati katiyeko cha. He can't sing no more :(.Yes his sons do sing. They are excellent . The younger one has his father's voice. They(Bhakta raj's) sons did a concert in Rajkiya Pragya Prathistyan a whileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ago. They tried to raise funds for their father's medical treatment. I think the concert was sold out and they raised 70,000.00 Rupees. I attened it. It was awesome. Anyway and the song you referred "Bhagya Rekha ma pahiro kina jaancha har ghadi" . I am not sure about it, but hey I can find it out puchtaach garera bhaye pani. Glad to hear thatyou are a Bhakta Raj fan. He has a very maarmik voice .
