Dear Rajendra-ji,
As long as people use their real names, they are
FREE to post whatever they want to post.
hai na ta?
If their stuff is good, other people will
read and re-read their stuff.
If their stuff is bad, people will NOT read their
stuff.
It's as simple as that.
My point was simple: Why are YOU bothered when
people use their real names even to "slander"
others? By posting their real names, are those
people NOT taking responsibilities?
I certainly am.
To slander somebody, by definition, is to defame
by spreading UNTRUE statements about
them.
The key word here is: UNTRUE
For example, you may recall that by PUBLICLY
agreeing that he's had life-long problems with
anger management, Dr. Dinesh Nath Gongal at
least had the HUMILITY and the GREATNESS
to exhort -- however late in his life -- younger
people for "more kindness" and "more humaneness"
and "more patience".
Rajendra-ji, my point is simple: If those who
have inherited Dr. Gongal's genes are incapable
of managing their limbic anger (shaking and
foaming at the mouth, as it were), then you
and I must use our resources so that Dr.
Gongal's teachings are inherited by all the
other young people.
Limbic anger, as psychologists tell us, is poisonously
infectious. It's raw, crude and searing. If anything,
such collective limbic anger was that that gave force
to the "Ritik Roshan Kanda" in Nepal last December.
You know that most Nepalis are NOTORIOUSLY inept
when it comes to managing their limbic emotions.
And as somebody who is proud of having a diverse
group of friends, I've seen, Rajendra-ji, how
one person's uncontrollable limbic anger can go on
to destroy years of friendship and poison others'
emotions too.
Others may give up easily; I never do.
And one of the challenges of my life
would be to confront that person FACE-TO-FACE,
neutralize that person's years of limbic anger,
and render him emotionally impotent. [Have
you seen the movie "Matrix"?]
Only then Dr. Gongal's teachings would come
home to roost, literally.
Long live public debates in which people post
in their own names.
Down with limbic anger when one person's
genetically-coded raw, crude anger erupts
into emotional aag-laagi for a number of
other folks as well.
And remember, slander means spreading UNTRUE,
UNVERIFIABLE and negative statements about others.
