Can we make it a little late? Like around 8 pm, Monday?
What are the rules?
hyaterica Posted on 02-Aug-02 08:12 PM

alrite, no side hanning to ones sister or brother (in the live dohori) , okay? Can it not be saila or maili or whatever instead of daju / baini ko aadha umera? after reading some of these dohoris, one of my friends asked me if it was okay in our culture to hit on ones own sister/brother! I had a hard time explaining things to her.
Anyways, it aint as serious as I am making it to be. But hey, how hard is it to use something other than daju and baini?
psychodreamer Posted on 02-Aug-02 08:24 PM

check
psychodreamer Posted on 02-Aug-02 08:27 PM

Hysterica...i didnt quite understand you and i am sorry for that....but isnt it quite common to say daju and bahini in dhori??
besides in the live chat even if something happens which other group of people do not like then it should nto be the end of the world or the story...

What's the rule?
I mean we will have bunch of people signing to play. Shall we divide between groups?

Even if we divide groups, how to know what other group members are thinking? What if one group starts posting 3 or 4 responses at one time, which is natural if the group members are not discussing.
hyaterica Posted on 02-Aug-02 09:03 PM

Yes, psychodreamer, I dont think you got me rig ht. Of course it is common to say daju and baini in a dohori (and this is where you got me wrong , I believe). Or may be I mistook (galat artha) reading these lines (of yours).

psycodreamers lines:

>Yo bahini ko gulabi ootha gulabi ootha
>tara dien malai naramro chota naramro chota
>relai ghumera bahine ........relai ghumera....

But anyways, it definitely isnt the end of the world. I was just making a small point which (apparently) need not be taken (too) seriously. I will tell my friend not to comment on who tries to hit (I know hitting isnt the right word, cant think of a more appropriate word right now, sorry) on whom, and just to enjoy the sequences and responses in the live dohori ;)

Very difficult and obvious problem. I have a solution too.

* There will be two groups - a boys' group and a girls' group.
* There will be maximum of 4 people in each group. Thus only upto 8 people can participate actively and others will enjoy watching it.
* There will be a leader in each group.
* Group members will be using P2P with the leader.
* Members of the group will send their songs to the leader. If two or more members send songs in p2p, leader will choose one.
* On every song, the leader will put a signature (any code that is mutually agreed by two leaders in advance) so that only the group members are participating. It is only to avoid the duplication, and interruption from non-playing members. If there is high demand, we will do it another day too.

This process makes it a little slow but can do. It is very common that group members start thinking of possible reply from the opposition and the next song in sequence. Most of the time it works.

I think technical problem is now solved.
Now the managerial problem:
Who will be the organizer? How to select the group members? Who will be in boys' and who will be in girls?

We should have one organizer who will keep track of interested members. Shall I do it? If you guys think, send me e-mail in "reply to email" feature of this posting. I will save all the e-mails and assign interested members in group in the order I received the e-mails. I will post the complete list of participants on August 17th.

There will be dohori related rules too. No filthy and faul languages will be tolerated.
"Use sober language and respect each other" will be our motto.

We need a timekeeper or judge or moderator... whatever you name it. NKji will you take the responsibility? I will explain the roles and responsibilities of this position.

Let's try this way:
* All the ladies, please keep girls' side.
* All the gentlemen, please keep boy's side.

If enough members are not in the group, intergender team will be sought for.

ha ha.. if you guys trust me, I may be the boys' leader... should I decline in favor of you Jantare?

Please ignore any errors above, no time to review.

Fair enough,

But, count me in, I ain't sending no emails.
I am not sure if I am familiar with Sajha's P2P. We are using Sajha's chat right?

Gandhiji,

I would love to help in any possible way but I may be the wrong person for this. I have no knowledge of rules and so forth of Dohari. Maybe some other volunteer?
Biswo Posted on 03-Aug-02 09:36 AM

I missed this conversation yesterday night. I went to watch "Road To Perdition", and
almost missed this Dohori.

I am for it too.
DWI Posted on 04-Aug-02 07:35 PM
