Dazed and confused

This refers to article entitled : "Kumari The Living Goddesses" published in Know Nepal of your newspaper on July 29, 2002. I got stunned when I read the last paragraph. It was written that special grants and scholarships were given to prestigious institutions, plus cash awards as a wedding present to Kumaris by religious societies.

This information puzzled me for a while because being a former Kumari, I have not obtained even a scholarship so far from any prestigious institution.

I had spent eight years of my childhood inside the Kumari palace. I didn’t get a chance to go to school at that time. When I retired at the age of twelve, I was admitted in class two. Because of the great support from my parents and sisters, I was able to get double promotion to class four and then six and so on. Now I have passed I Sc from Amrit Science College. I am highly interested in doing BE in architecture. But because of my low percentage, I was not able to compete with those students with a strong educational background. Nor am I able to join a private engineering college. So if there is any institution which can help me, let me know. Otherwise, I would like to request all the writers not to write such things without knowing the fact first.. Please don’t make the sufferer suffer more.

Arcitecture, being a professional degree is very competitive, expensive and in demand. If you're planning to come to the US, the USEF in Gyaneshwor has calalogs of good information on financial assistanceships, grants and other scholarships. They might as well have some listings of the sponsers who would be very happy to support you. Given your background, you might have some luck in securing the required fundings.
Best of luck.

Rashmilaji,

(I am not sure if that is the right expression)

I think you should pursue your search for engineering study. I am pretty sure given
your unique background, you will have better chances. If your interest is in
Architectural Engineering, please try for that.

(I can't believe my luck, I am addressing this to goddess once revered by many!)

Well, wait a minute.

I think Rashmilaji didn't come here, the email was posted here, right?

Anyway, if she ever reads this, that is still gonna be my advice.
