Indrapur Women Dance Naked to Please Rain God
Kohalpur, Aug. 10 (RSS): About 200 women from the farming community in Banke district came out naked and ploughed their farms at midnight in Indrapur VDC on Tuesday to appease the rain god Indra.
The god Indra is believed to cause rainfall during drought.All the naked women locked up the gates and shut the windows of their houses, with their husband inside, and ploughed the fields at midnight chanting hymns. In Udayapur VDC, some women had resorted to ploughing the fields accompanied by vulgar dances in anticipation of rain.

That is pretty cool!!
But who is saying "vulgar"? What about it was vulgar? It seems to me like an immense act of faith!
Hope they get rain and hope Indra is appeased!

Faith makes what the women in that village did sacred, and the lack of it what the chorus girls do profane and base.
Euta Keta, I am sorry to hear you think that is primitive!
How "advanced" is going into a confessional to get absolution? Ot thinking that there is only one way to salvation?

Heavy rains disrupt life in western life
Call it a superstition that has come true or a mere coincidence, no sooner had some two hundred women bared themselves before the rain gods in western Nepal, the region that was hit by drought all these weeks has been witnessing perpetual rainfall since Saturday, reports said.
People in western Nepal had been resorting to weird acts of solemnizing marriages between frogs, performing nude dances to appease the rain gods in the recent weeks. Women folks even ploughed the fields during the night in their birth suits in an attempt to shower blessings in the form of rain.
According to reports, the region received 177 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, the highest record rainfall in the past three years.
Most of the towns and Tarai districts in western Nepal are submerged in water following the sudden downpour. Houses in the open spaces have been inundated and hundreds have been displaced.
Transportation too has been affected and buses plying into the region have been stuck because of the inundation of roads, reports said. nepalnews.com am Aug 12

Now, I think it is time for men to bare and dance in the field. Maybe Indra will wake up and stop the rain disgusted by naken men prancing around! Right? ;)

I always had a feeling that Indra was naughty ....... Oh behave Indra jee ..... don't make them dance naked lest they catch cold ......
